Summary

A sudden rash of tears in space remind the prince and his friends of a time they were visited by great heroes from another world. When they travel to the gate that connects to that world, they encounter Sharena, princess of the Askran Kingdom.

Prince Alfonse of Askr, he who can open gateways to the realms, I would have you offer your vessel to my master. N-no! Aaaarggh! Do not awaken yourself anytime soon; I will attend to your worldly form. Stop! Where are you taking my brother?! And the princess of gateways as well! Well then, know that I intend to judge the worthiness of certain otherworldly heroes as warriors for the heavens. And for that purpose, I have chosen to borrow your brother's power. But all the tears in space we've seen lately MUST be connected to this gate! ...Er, right? While we've no specific evidence of such a connection, a similar phenomenon did occur when Prince Alfonse's group first arrived in this world. Yeah, I'd hoped we'd find a clue here, but maybe it's... Huh? That light... The gate is opening! It's open! Commander Anna, it's open! But goodness, it appears to be unstable. I must hurry through at once. Hey, you guys all hear a voice from the other side of the gate, right? I may not get another chance at this, so if I have to go through alone, that's what I'm going to do! Hold on to your butts, 'cause it gets worse: These rifts aren't closing, AND a buncha fiends are pouring out of 'em and headin' for the city!
