Summary

The prince hears the first Mitsuhide betrayed the first Nobunaga—but the current namesakes overcame that ancestral enmity. As they explain the relationship between their clans, Ebisu is ensnared, but manages to escape. The whole party then pursues him to the Kagura Stage.

So a long time ago, my Mouse Clan served under Nobunaga's Horse Clan. Everyone expected the Mouse Wyrmclan to back Nobunaga for shogun in order to raise their own status. But the Mouse leader, Mitsuhide, betrayed Nobunaga and attacked their ally instead. It was a full-on insurrection. But why? No one knows. Apparently the old Nobunaga and Mitsuhide got along famously and trusted each other. Anyway, as you can imagine, that little incident has put somewhat of a damper on relations between the Mouse and Horse Clans, even after all these years. But you guys are total BFFs! That's 'cause neither of us give a crap about tradition. I mean, is there anything more stupid than having a mortal enemy locked in before you're even BORN? Forming one's allies and enemies is a decision of vital importance, and I will reserve such judgments for myself! Man, you guys have VERY different personalities, but at least you think alike! So that's how you were able to overcome the past and forge a relationship you— Hold up. You guys hear that? Sounds like quite the to-do! Perhaps our allies have ensnared Ebisu. Come, Mitsuhide!
