Summary

As the party takes a break from their pursuit of the fleeing Rathalos, their new Felyne friend shares details of other monsters, the weapons used to fight them, and the relationship between man and nature on his home world. Impressed, the party resumes their pursuit with new fervor.

Dialogue

Yaaaah! I believe it intends to relocate! In that case, I've got just the thing... Damn and damn again! It escaped! Don't worry—I snagged it with a paintball. It has a strong smell that I should be able to follow anywhere. Nice job, kitty! Purrrrr... I get so ticklish when you pet me like that... We must pursue the Rathalos at once! Hold a moment. First, I wish to look for clues in its nest. Would you do the honors, my dear Felyne? With purr-leasure! Nya nya nya nya nya... So many purr-ty souvenirs... Nya? What's this weird rock? That's an otherworld fragment! A what nyaow? They're infused with such powerful mana that they can actually warp space-time. Strong fiends drop them from time to time. And better yet, you can use that fragment to return to your own world! Good point, Cleo. We should focus on finding as many of them as we can. All right, I think we got everything! NOW can we pursue the Rathalos? Every moment you dither permits the beast to slip further through our fingers!

Nyaaa... Sorry, fur-iend, but I'm beat. This has been a long day; I imagine we are all weary. *huff* *puff* Just...a little... It would be dangerous to pursue it if we're not all at full strength. Let's rest here for a while. The Guild Gal gave me some emergency rations. Wanna share, kitty? Mee-YOW! Can't believe how far that Rathalos traveled from its nest. Thing must be one hell of a flier, yeah? We've heard reports of Rathalos flying for three days and nights without rest. Their wings are extraordinarily strong. The more I learn about this foe, the more my admiration grows. Is your world home to other such monsters? Certainly! There are Zinogre, who use their electric coats to encase themselves in lightning. Oh, and Brachydios are noted for their exploding slime. Then we have the lava-coated Lavasioth that swims through magma, and the Malfestio that can disorient foes with their dust. Yes, our world is diverse indeed! I don't understand how ANY hunters are able to take down things like that. You must have some crazy weapons. Fur sure! Greatswords, lances, and bows, for starters. Then you've got the odd ones, like insect glaives that command Kinsects and switch axes that change shape. Dude, your world sounds RAD. Tell me more! Tell me all of it! Well, when fighting larger monsters, hunters set barrel bombs, then follow it up with ballista or dragonator blasts. What's a "dragonator"? It's a weapon that shoots giant lances at high speeds. We've got some on the Soaratorium, nyactually. That certainly sounds impressive. The people of our world have developed a wide variety of weapons with which to battle monsters. But to be clear, our goal is symbiosis, not eradication. On our world, these monsters represent both the dangers of the wild and the blessings of nature. We study them in order to better understand our neighbors. I suppose it's a bit like the relationship between people and dragons here. *munch* *chomp* *horf* Me-YOW! My energy is BACK! Then if we are all sufficiently rested, let us finally resume our pursuit! Back to the Rathalos hunt, everyone!
