The Ilian Church is a church that worships the goddess Ilia. It is the main religion of Alberia, and its leader is the Auspex.
Doctrine
Origin
Hundreds of years ago, the Other was born into the world. His great strength forced humans and dragons to work together to overcome him, with the humans being led by Ilia and the dragons being led by Elysium. Together they were able to overcome this demon, and humans began to worship their saviors.
Beliefs
The Ilian Church venerates dragons as being sacred creatures as a result of their worship of the Holywyrm Elysium. The trading of dragon eggs is forbidden by the Ilian Church. The worship of other religions is forbidden by the church, and leaving it or refusing its teachings is also heretical.
Organization
The Ilian Church is led by the Auspex, who is blessed by Ilia and wields the power of miracles. The rest of the clergy consists of the archbishop, bishops, priests, and priestesses. Serving them are paladyns, warriors tasked to defend the Auspex and the clergy, and inquisitors, who punish those who disobey the church. The Ilian church does not only run churches but also abbeys, providing for the needy.
