After venting his regret at not being chosen for the Great Twelve, Ebisu escapes. Meanwhile, Hanabusa is cracking under the pressure, while Daikokuten remains weighed down by his complicated friendship with Ebisu. But at least Mitsuhide seems to have SOME sort of plan...?

A competition was held during the New Year's season. Lady Amaterasu decreed that the first twelve dragons to greet her at the dawn of the new year would be given this honor. You awarded 'em first-come, first-serve? Harsh realm, man. Indeed. Everyone was quite eager to secure one of these positions, and Ebisu and myself were no exception. We were young and wild back then, adolescent rivals full of vim and vigor. Then I take it you won a slot in the Great Twelve and Ebisu didn't? It was more that I was there when the competition began, while Ebisu was not. Why would Ebisu fail to show at such an important time? He overslept. Dude, no WAY! Felines value their sleep highly. And alas, by the time Ebisu awoke, the competition was already decided. I can't believe he just slept through it. That's, like, the oldest excuse in the book! So all of this drama is just a big tantrum for his own stupid mistake? One could certainly see it in that light. But had I gone to wake him that day, things may have been different. I knew he was not over what happened, but did not understand the true depths of his pain until this moment. Geez, man. That's rough. I should have noticed sooner. As one of the Great Twelve, it is a disgraceful oversight. So Ebisu and Daikokuten used to be quite close, eh? Well, there is only one way to move past such an event. Luckily, it is easily done...
