Summary

The party hurries to a town under attack and discovers Tiki, the Divine Dragon princess. After witnessing an imperial dragon hunt, Tiki has deemed the humans of this world to be her enemy. The prince's party then confronts her in the hopes of convincing her otherwise.

There! It's those damnable dragons! Attend me, men! Our orders are to root out and exterminate every last dragon on this mountain—leave not a single one alive! Sir, yes, sir! How horrid! Huh? What's a kid doin' out here?! Stop it! Stop hurting the dragons! No one cares what you think, child. Now go home before you get hurt. If you don't stop, I'm going to get angry! No... She's a dragon! If you do any more bad things, I'm going to make you pay! Gyaaaaargh! Stand your ground, you gutless curs! We're under orders to slay those dragons as an offering to the Empress! S-sir, yes, sir! Fine! Be that way! Don't blame me for what happens next! F-fall back! We need to regroup! Well, that did the trick for now, but I'm pretty sure they'll be back. This world is just like that woman told me it would be... ...Huh? Wh-where am I? And where is everyone else? So the Dragon Scion has awakened. Y-you! You have naught to fear from me; I've no intentions of harming you. I seek only to borrow your might. No! I'm not going to help a bad person like you! Ah, but you misunderstand. What I desire from you is nothing less than the salvation of an entire world's dragons. What do you mean? In the world of which I speak, dragons are a symbol of faith. Nevertheless, the ascension of a wicked demon has left them subject to terrible persecution.  ! But again, I speak of a different world. These endangered dragons are not the manakete that you know. Yet I would hear your judgment on the matter. Are such dragons worthy of your salvation? I am a friend to all dragonkind, no matter the origin. If I have the power to aid them, then I will do it! I expected no less of you, young scion. Pray allow me to express my admiration for your considerable resolve. But I also advise you to steel yourself; the enormity of the threat these dragons face from the demon-tainted forces may be rather more than you are expecting. Hear me, men! Today is the day we wipe out those foul dragons for good and all! Now send in the fiends to keep that golden dragon at bay! M-monsters?! No, stop! Get away! Graaaaagh! Now's our chance! Slay the other dragons! Sir, yes, sir! No! Stop! Forward, men! Keep the pressure on! No! They're going to kill them and leave me all alone... I hate being alone! I HAAATE IT! ...Wait, slow down. You say there's a dragon attacking the town?! Could this be some manner of misunderstanding? I wish it was, but every survivor who escaped has been spinnin' the same tale. Do the dragons of this world typically attack humans or their settlements? We have all sorts of dragons in this world, and some are much crankier than others. But going out of the way to attack a human town is not normal behavior. Even so, the existence of dragons is not always to humanity's benefit. For example, as dragons govern nature, they are also responsible for causing various natural disasters. Wait, so you blame dragons every time there's a storm or earthquake?! Er, no. That's not quite right. Such things are generally caused by disturbances within the balance of mana as opposed to the dragon's personal will. We dragons, you see, possess the power to suppress that mana—or, conversely, to increase it! Wait. You're a dragon? I sure am! This little skinsuit is just a disguise so I can travel incognito. In truth, I am the majestic and beautiful Flamewyrm, Brunhilda! Fascinating... You know, that actually reminds me of a friend of mine who is a divine dragon in her own right. Hey, yeah. Your world's got dragons too, right? Something called manaketes? That's right. And while the manakete I refer to comes from a different world, we're still very close friends. Well, whatever is going on, we can't let this village remain in harm's way. Let's go, everyone! ...I don't see any signs of a dragon. Are we sure this village ahead is the one that's under attack? Uh, guys? What's a kid doing here? ...... Tiki! Oh, it's so wonderful to see you! Everyone, this my good friend Tiki. She's the divine dragon I told you about. And I can assure you there's no way she is responsible for attacking a village. Sharena, wait! Hey, Tiki! It's me! Sharena! ...... Uh...Tiki? Stay away from me. Huh? You're bad people who do awful things to us! You can all just die! Tiki, what are you saying?! Friend or not, we can't allow this village to sustain any more damage. We're gonna need you to calm down, my dragon sister. And if that means I need to start playing rough with you, then so be it! Everyone's going away... Make this nightmare stop!
