Summary

With help from the prince and his friends, the Wycademy crew makes quick progress on the Soaratorium repairs. Their work is interrupted, however, by reports of a ＂black dragon＂ attack. Surmising that the culprit is a Dreadking Rathalos, the party sets out to find its nest.

Dialogue

In the days since their encounter with the
legendary Fatalis, the Wycademy team has
been working to fix the Soaratorium in hopes
of returning to their homeworld.
Wyventurer, we've got a problem! We're all out of lumber! Oh, no need to worry about that. The others should be back any min— We're back! We asked the village in the western woods to share a piece of the mother tree. We're thinkin' it should be pretty close to the yukumo wood from your world. We've gathered other materials from all over the continent, too. Hope they help! These are perfect. How can I thank you? Hell, we're happy to help if it means we get to see this ship fly around! Besides, your researchers are giving us a lot of useful advice about how to monster-proof the Halidom. Our scholars are out of their minds with excitement about all this—and the combat training we got from your Master of Style has really come in handy! The ship's repairs are going splendidly, and everyone's learning from each other. Things couldn't be better! I mean, except for all the things that COULD be better. Indeed. Even if we do get the ship repaired, we still haven't figured out a way to return to our homeworld. True—an otherworld fragment would only take you far as the space between worlds. And trying to reach a specific world ultimately just comes down to chance. I wish we knew a better way. So I might never see my meowster again? Don't let your whiskers droop, kitty. We'll figure something out! Sound advice! Let us have faith in our friends and continue to work hard with our heads held high! Meow! Euden! Berserker? What's wrong?! And my chief researcher as well? A black dragon! Dark as night it was! We was climbing a mountain and it attacked one'a me friends! A black dragon...? Technically speaking, the monster is another Rathalos. But it is no normal Rathalos—I fear we have a Dreadking on our hands. How is that different from a normal one? On rare occasions, a variation emerges from within a known monster species. We call these variations "deviants." This particular Rathalos deviant has been given the moniker "Dreadking" to reflect the fear and respect it commands. Dreadkings are distinguished by their darker scales, as well as abilities that far exceed those of a typical Rathalos. And it looks like this one has decided that humans make for easy prey! We've no choice—we must eliminate it with all speed. I'm afraid we'll need the Wycademy's help with this one. Is there any way you can determine the location of its nest? We shall begin looking at once. The more traces and eyewitness sightings we have, the better we'll be able to surmise the location of the nest. Then we'll go find what you need. Right!
