• In Norse mythology, Midgardsormr ("world serpent") is another name for Jörmungandr, the giant serpent that encircles the earth and bites its tail. It is considered the arch-enemy of Thor, and it is said that the serpent will release its tail at the start of Ragnarok, the end of the world.
• Midgardsormr's name, description, and damage output differs before you clear Chapter 1 / 3-4: The Proud Windwyrm. He is the only unit that has this property in the entire game.
  • Midgardsormr's name is displayed as Dragon of the Forest.
  • Midgardsormr's description is as follows: A dragon called the Windwyrm resides in the Mistholt. You've gained the aid of this dragon temporarily, but to form a dragonpact, you must head for the Mistholt. His true name will then be revealed.
  • Midgardsormr's dragon form deals significantly higher damage than all other damage sources available before that quest is cleared (generally at least 2000 damage with each basic attack hit, and around 4000 damage with each skill, compared to 50-100 with adventurers' hits and a bit over 100 with adventurers' skills.), likely to make it much easier to clear the early quests, up to and including the first boss fight against Midgardsormr (still known as Dragon of the Forest) in Chapter 1 / 3-3: A True Pact.
