Summary

The passion of the bon dance helps Catherine and Eugene clear up their ill feelings, which warms the hearts of the Styxes and makes them transform into their mature form. Sadly, the pair realizes this will mean being parted from Sam, and prepares to bid a reluctant farewell.

Dialogue

We're back from taking down the fiends. The passion and heat of this dance is even impressing a fire dragon like me! Okay, this is weird. I feel all...hot. And I as well—to think it all comes from us performing the same movements! I can feel her movements! Her consciousness!

As rocs are set against the merles, so too is it the same as they swim through the eddies of passion. Each who dances is their own. Though miles apart, they're yet alike. All are fools together in perfect harmony. And in this, we have the dance of Bon! Uraaaaagh!

When I attended my first school, I realized something. There's two kinds of people in the world: People who can talk well... and people who can't. People who can laugh along, and people who can't. Can I be like that? All I do is cower in the dark. That was the birthday party I was invited to by a school friend. I realized how others viewed me. The mayor's daughter. A wealthy child. A girl with vast advantages. A girl who could be used. The idea that people would view me for who I really was was a mere fantasy. I myself had no value. Yeah, those grapes were sour. Listen, I can manage anything perfectly. In fact, I'M the one who rejected THEM. So please. Look at ME. Trying just means getting worn out. Being shiftless brings only misery. If I hold out my hand, will something change? Would it be easier if I gave up? Everyone acknowledges you. You expect nothing from anyone. You're always at the center of everything. You always stand apart from everyone. I'm miserable when I look at you. I feel so foolish when I look at you. That's why I... That's why I... ...HATED YOU! Suu! Suu! Looks like you woke up, Eugene. Y-yeah. Until now, I was... Ensnared in passions. Lost in the dream. Ah, and the young lady seems to be waking as well. Nnngh... Want a hand? Um...yes. Thank you. G-good morning, Catherine! Eugene? Whoa! The Styxes combined into one! It's so beautiful... This is Styx's mature form. She has accepted Catherine and Eugene's growth, and so has grown up as well. Goodness. Sam is...glowing. Sam and the mature form you see there were originally one, and they are returning to that state now. Wait. Sam and that dragon are one? Ha ha! Maybe they'll both come over and play board games! Styx is the guardian dragon of great rivers. The immature version appears before people to evaluate if they are worthy of receiving blessings. If so, she grows into her mature form and returns to the river. Then she works to bring about the blessing of water to all. But she loses her memories from her immature form, and is left with only a base affection towards people. Oh no! Does that mean... we have to say goodbye to Sam? No! What do we do?! Styx has repeated this cycle since ancient times. It is her nature, her providence. There can be no exception. Clear waters of the great rivers ascend to the skies, become clouds, then fall back to the land as rain. Though they make one equally damp, tears and rain are yet a world apart. Spare not your smiles; see your friend off. B-but... Eugene. Catherine. Sam, you can TALK?! You are both...friends. When you are friends...I am happy. That is why...I love people! Sam did all of this in order to bring blessings to everyone. THANK YOU, SAAAAM!
