It feels funny having kids call me "Ms. Estelle," but if I'm being totally honest...I kind of like it.

Which is strange, because it SOUNDED like it should have done some serious damage. The Loving Hand is not meant to hurt! Interesting... Look, can we maybe talk about why a strange lady just walked up and slapped me in the face? My name is Estelle. I am a preacher. As an advocate for the teachings of the Church, I can't allow your wretched behavior to go unpunished! The heck did I do? There is no shortage of rumors with you at their core... One of which claims that you surround yourself with young women in that castle of yours and engage in all manner of... of...of indecencies! WHAT?! And now I see you with my own eyes, flanked on either side by women fair! What exactly are you implying? I-indeed! Wh-whatever you think our... r-relationship is, you are quite mistaken! She's right. This is all just one big misunderstanding... Is that so? Hmm. Then it seems I allowed myself to be fooled by hearsay. I apologize for acting rashly before I fully understood the situation. Well, it didn't really hurt, so I guess... Anyway, I'm just glad we got it cleared up. There's nothing special between Cleo or Elisanne and myself. We're just friends. ...?! Hmph. Is that so? I know it sounds like I'm making up excuses, but it... I... Um... A-are you gonna...? ...No. Now that I think about it, you really have no reason to act in such a manner. Oh, good. Um...sorry? Why? It isn't as if you have anything to apologize for. ...Riiight? True, but I...just felt like I should say it. *sigh* You are a strange one. Sometimes your kindness gets the better of you. Is that so? Still, you must think I'm not really cut out for this kind of work... Not at all. Though it is a side of you I'm not really used to seeing. That's nice, but I have a long way to go until I reach the level I want to be at. What level is that? Well, the reason I wanted to become a preacher was because that's what my grandmother did. When I was little, I was always getting into trouble. Really? Heh. I never would've guessed, but I can kind of see it... My grandmother was the kindest woman I'd ever met. She hardly ever scolded me for being such a mischief-maker. ...Until the day I pulled a truly awful prank. What happened? I hurt someone. Oh. What did your grandmother do? She disciplined me—for the first time in my life. Let me guess: the Loving Hand? Yes. I remember it as if it were yesterday... It hurt so much. Er, but I thought the point of the Loving Hand was that it DOESN'T hurt. The pain I felt was not physical. It was an ache deep in my chest. The very same anguish that I had inflicted on my grandmother. So the Loving Hand conveys the pain in a person's heart? Exactly! The Loving Hand is not supposed to hurt; rather, it is supposed to make someone understand the emotional pain that YOU feel. That's kind of incredible. Isn't it?! Seeing you talk about your grandmother with such love makes me understand how wonderful she was. Oh! N-now I'm embarrassed... There's nothing to be embarrassed about. No, it's just... I have a bad habit of letting my emotions get the better of me. I rely on the Loving Hand far too much. But that's not a bad thing, is it? It is unacceptable behavior for a preacher to engage in, Loving Hand or no. I ought to be kind and compassionate, not let my temper get the better of me! Well, that may be the right thing to do as a preacher... But I like you just the way you are. I know you're trying the best you can. Wh-what are you saying?! Take THIS! Augh! I'm so sorry!
