Summary

As the prince and his comrades march on, they are beset by a black fog. As it dissipates, they find themselves lost inside the palace. Separated from their forces, they steel their resolve and make their way through the fiend- filled depths to a confrontation with the Other.

Dialogue

There it is—the royal palace. It is enshrouded in a dense fog with an ominous aura. Captain! Who's that guy? An enemy? Easy, friends—I dispatched these men to scout out the situation at the palace. ...Well? How are the Other's defenses? Deserted, sir. We didn't see signs of even a single enemy solider. I ain't the sharpest blade in the rack, but Ranzal's ma didn't raise a kid dumb enough to believe the Other is just sittin' in there all alone. Yeah, this smells like an ambush. Right, but an ambush from WHERE? There's no place for soldiers to be hiding between here and the palace. Scanning for magical devices... Negative. No devices found. Meaning we can rule out any more surprises like that from Harle. What is the plan, Euden? All we can do now is keep moving and make sure we're careful. Understood, Your Highness. ...All units, advance—and be ready for anything!

I almost can't believe it, but there truly are no enemies here. And I don't get the sense they're waiting up ahead, either. Still, it's strange... What is, darling? No matter how much we walk, it doesn't seem like we're getting any closer. Let's all just take a deep breath, yeah? We've been walkin' for a while now— we HAVE to be closer! The prince is correct: I am detecting errors with our location data. Okay, what's going on here? Unknown. Conducting analysis now. Look out! The fog is growing thicker! Is everyone still there?! Darling! Where aaare you? I can't see my own hand in front of my face! Visibility decreasing rapidly. Everyone, grab the person next to you and don't let go! We'll move as one! Hey, over there! It's the palace! We couldn't approach it before, so why can we do so now? Perhaps we are meant to take it as an invitation. Shall we do so, Highness? It could be dangerous, but we can't stop now. Let's go!

Good news is, we made it inside. BAD news is, we lost all the soldiers what we came here with. Looks like the gate locked behind us, so you can forget turning around and trying to find 'em. I hope they're okay... Why did our group—and ONLY ours— manage to make it inside? It's like the Other wants us to come. Make no mistake: Morsayati DOES have some kind of reason for this. So if we're going to get out, we'll have to defeat him first.  ! Numerous fiends detected in the vicinity. They are approaching our position. Prepare for combat. And here I thought we might just be able to waltz inside and settle this. Yeah, I guess not. Let's head for the throne room and take down these fiends in the process! Right! (Just hang on, Zethia!)
