- In Japanese mythology, Ebisu is the god of fishermen and luck. He is one of the Seven Gods of Fortune, alongside Daikokuten. He is often depicted holding a large red sea bream. Shopkeepers often display Ebisu and Daikokuten as a pair.
- In the Dragalia Lost event story for A Clawful Caper, Ebisu mentions that he missed becoming one of the Great Twelve by oversleeping, because Daikokuten (the mouse dragon) forgot to wake him. This is a reference to myths surrounding the Chinese Zodiac, where the Cat was tricked by the Rat to not be aware of the Jade Emperor's banquet. The Cat therefore could not meet the Jade Emperor to become one of the 12 Zodiac animals, and held deep resentment for the Rat thereafter.
