Summary

The Dragonyule season has arrived! Holiday preparations in the village near the Halidom are in full swing, but a fiend attack ends with all their goods purloined. The prince promises the despondent townspeople a party in the Halidom, then takes off after the thieves.

A snowy eve, granted by dragons— The starlight glimmering ever bright... O sea of stars! Shine ever radiant! Grant us this miraculous night! I have returned. Hoo-ee! It's nice and toasty in here! I appreciate you two taking care of the shopping. What's the snow situation looking like out there? There's PILES of it! Oh, and you've gotta see the village—it's suuuper sparkly. Sparkly? Wait, like sparks? Fire? The village is on fire?! Figuratively, ya dope! Not literally. Just think about it for a sec— what's coming soon? Hmm... It's sparkly...and something's coming soon... Ah! Dragonyule! Ding ding ding! Dragonyule? What's that? Only the most fun day EVER! I'm not terribly familiar with it myself. It's one of the Ilian Church's holidays, yes? I always thought it was a time when humans threw a snow party of some sort. Are you saying there's more to it? I guess it makes sense that dragons and sylvans wouldn't be familiar with it. birth, the dragons combined their

power and filled the sky with stars.

Because of that, the day of Ilia's birth

is called "the night of falling stars."

And the festival held to celebrate the

day came to be called "Dragonyule."

Hey, some INTERESTING history for once! Er, but what do you do on Dragonyule? Fun stuff, right? Please say fun stuff. Ya know it! We chow down on all kinds of tasty grub, and also hang a buncha decorations on the ol' Yuletree. And beneath those Yuletrees, we exchange gifts. And why do you do that? Well, when Ilia was born, it's said people gave each other commemorative gifts. After that, it just became something of a holiday tradition. Wait. All you humans get FREE presents?! That is SO not fair! If ya think it ain't fair, what say ya join in and do a little gift swap of yer own? I fear it might not be so easy as all that. There are doubtless many cultural aspects of gift-giving we would need to understand first, lest we make some boorish error. Indeed. While it sounds rather like fun, I think it might prove difficult for us. Okay, in that case— Emergency! Emeeeeeergencyyyy! What is it?! A man just showed up at the castle saying the town was attacked by fiends! Well, THAT'S a bummer. C'mon, everyone! We have to go help! Whaaaat?! All the sparkly decorations and stuff are GONE! There doesn't appear to be much damage, but the decorations and gifts have most certainly been purloined. They were stolen by fiends, they were! The monsters took anything and everything what had to do with Dragonyule! They came out of nowhere... What would a pack of fiends want with all of your Dragonyule decorations? WAAAAAAAH! Our Yuletree is GOOOONE! Hush, child! You should be giving thanks no one was hurt instead of caterwauling about a missing tree. B-but now we can't celebrate, and I wanna celebrate, and...and...WAAAAAAH! Easy, there. You can celebrate with us. *sniff* But how, mister? Everything's gone. In that case, we'll just throw a Dragonyule celebration for everyone at the Halidom! REALLY?! Yep. And we'll track down the fiends and find your stolen decorations and gifts as well. Once we do, we'll put everything in the castle to keep it nice and safe. So stop crying, okay? It's all going to be better soon. Yaaaaaay! Thanks, mister! ...We're having a party in the castle now? It's the least we can do for these people. Plus, it will give our sylvan and dragon friends a chance to experience the holiday. So this is for us as well? It's for everyone, Cleo—I know I'm looking forward to it! In that case, we gotta put up the biggest Yuletree the world's ever seen! Agreed. But first we need to deal with the fiends who attacked the village and reclaim all of that stolen property. They can't have gotten very far yet; let's suss 'em out and shake 'em down! It's a plan. We'll get back the stolen decorations and put up a Yuletree in the castle!
