Summary

After Fjorm puts a stop to the clash between Alfonse and the prince, the two of them agree to put the misunderstanding behind them and become allies. Just then, the imperial army appears and launches an attack.

(I suppose I COULD surrender now that I've bought Veronica enough time— although she will likely be very cross at me for doing so. Or... Hmm. That sandy-haired swordsman is clearly their leader. If I inflict a heavy wound on him, that should allow me enough time to make my escape.) I'm not done yet! Haaaaah! Come on already! I'll not allow you to harm His Highness! I ain't a fan of gangin' up on somebody in a fight, but this joker clearly don't know when he's been beat! Stop, please! Princess Fjorm! Is that you? This quarrel is pointless! Oh for the love of... ...Okay, so you all came here from another world? I suppose from your perspective, that would be accurate. I am Fjorm, and I am—well, WAS— a princess of the Nifl Kingdom. ...Was? Alas, my homeland was ravaged by a fearsome enemy. My apologies if I brought up a painful memory. I do not mind. However, because of this, I presently reside in the kingdom of Prince Alfonse. Er, that would be me. I am Prince Alfonse of Askr. I've never heard of either of your kingdoms before. Just as we had never heard of Alberia or Dyrenell before this day. Guess that's one point for the whole "other world" theory, yeah? You guys are taking this REALLY well. If I got sent to another world, I'd probably be runnin' in circles and screaming. Where we come from, such unexpected detours are not so uncommon. Yep! Circles and screaming. Where we come from, there are countless gateways that open onto other worlds. So you can travel back and forth between worlds at will? I suppose that's about the size of it. So are ya pals with that lady what took off earlier? In a way, yes. Her name is Veronica, and she is the princess of the Emblian Empire. Then why is she commanding the Dyrenell forces? I fear the person you saw was, in fact, someone who assumed the appearance of Princess Veronica. Wanna run that by me again? There is an individual with such capabilities in our world. By the gods... LOKI is here?! I'm afraid so. I saw her shortly after arriving in this world. She was traveling alongside the soldiers of this "Dyrenell Empire." I cannot believe she is also here... This bodes most ill indeed. So this lady's...what? Master of disguise? Got a killer collection of masks and wigs or whatever? It is no mean disguise; Loki can transform into a perfect imitation of those whose form she is assuming. I wish I could do that! I'd totally act like the prince and order everybody to make me cakes and stuff. Mmm... And you think the person we saw was this Loki character assuming Veronica's form? This day is gettin' weirder by the second. Still, they don't appear to be lying, so I'm inclined to trust them. Bwa ha ha! How'd I know you'd say that? She must have some kinda value for the Empire considerin' how many men they got tryin' to hunt her down. She's gonna be safer with us. Then let's get out there and find— AAAAAAAGH! What was that scream?! The heck's going on?! Did something happen?! The Dyrenell Empire is attacking, and in vast numbers! What?! Of all the times... So much for searching for that princess. That may not be a coincidence. It's almost as if they want to stall us... Diversion or no, we have to defend the people of this town. Then my sword is yours.
