Ranzal: Aw, crap. We got pirates at the gates!
Euden: Sorry, what?
Cleo: Are you certain you're not simply imagining this?
Cleo: For what possible reason would pirates come to a place like this?
Ranzal: I'm serious! Go look for yerself!
Ranzal: They're DEFINITELY pirates!
Euden: Well, I guess we should go see what's going on. I mean, if Ranzal's right, we can't just ignore it.
Cleo: I'm still convinced he's just seeing things. The man likely spent too much time out on the town again last night.
Karina: Oh ho! The landlubbers arrive!
Pirate 1: Shiver me timbers, but there be some true cuties here! Gahar har har!
Karina: Hey! Quit acting like a creep!
Pirate 1: S-sorry, Cap'n! Yar...
Cleo: Well, they certainly look like pirates, what with the skull marking and all. And of course there's the, um, ＂yar＂ bit.
Cleo: But if they ARE pirates, why have they left their ship?
Euden: And what do they want with us?
Euden: There's little here worth stealing.
Pirate 2: Gar! Don't ye be talkin' 'bout the cap'n like that!
Pirate 2: She ain't some kinda moneygrubbin'—
Karina: Cram it already!
Karina: The more you flap your scary mug, the more likely these people are gonna flee in terror!
Pirate 2: Yar, I be sorry, Cap'n...
Karina: *sigh* ANYWAY! Yes. Sorry for all of the... commotion just now.
Karina: I'm Karina, the captain of this motley crew. Our ship's moored in a port a little ways from here.
Karina: But today, we didn't come to pillage.
Euden: Then why are you here?
Karina: To get a look at the infamous Euden! Hmm...
Euden: Um...what are you talking about?
Karina: I see you've got the guts to stand strong in the face of pirates... And those eyes!
Karina: You're quite the spirited one indeed. I think I like you!
Euden: No. Really. What are you talking about?
Karina: I've got a lot of experience with needing to judge people, see?
Karina: Just looking people in the eyes tells me all I need to know about 'em.
Karina: And I sense a strong will in you.
Karina: The rumors weren't lying. Heck, if anything, they undersold you!
Karina: Mmm... Those eyes... Just looking into 'em makes me want to claim you as my own.
Euden: Huh?!
Karina: Gar har har! I'm joking! ...For now, at least.
Karina: But more importantly, I'm gonna stick around and serve with ya for a while.
Karina: Me and my men'll help you fight.
Cleo: That's not something you simply walk up and announce. Also, there's no way we're going to let pirates into our castle.
Euden: Easy, Cleo. I don't think they're bad people. Plus, we need all the help we can get.
Euden: If you and your men want to join us, Karina, you're more than welcome.
Karina: Yar? Er, I mean, I know this was my idea and all, but I can't believe you're not the slightest bit suspicious of us.
Karina: You really are every bit the man I'd hoped!
Karina: Now I DO want you to be mine...
Euden: Erm...
Cleo: I dearly hope you're not making a terrible, terrible mistake right now.
Untraditional Pirates
Euden: Morning, Karina. I didn't expect to see you up this early.
Karina: Morning, Euden! Gahar har har! Your face is so adorable when you're sleepy like this!
Euden: Eeeep.
Euden: A-anyway, what are you doing up so early?
Karina: Oh, waking up early is just what I do.
Karina: A pirate's day starts with the rising of the sun, after all.
Euden: Is the rest of your crew awake, too?
Karina: But of course.
Karina: Hey! Boys! Euden's up! Come say good morning!
Pirate 1: Mornin', Yer Highness!
Pirate 2: Yar, didja sleep well?
Pirate 2: If too noisy we be, a holler give ye!
Karina: Very nice. Now back to work!
Pirates: Aye, Cap'n!
Euden: Work? ...Hey, wait a second.
Euden: How long has the castle been this clean?
Karina: Keeping things clean is the foundation of a good life! And since you're lettin' us stay here, it's the least we can do.
Euden: Wow, that's... Um, thanks. It's appreciated. You really are a conscientious bunch.
Euden: I can't believe what an amazing job they did. I've never seen the place so shiny.
Karina: I've made sure my men know how to do all the common chores. Cleaning, laundry, sewing—you name it, they can do it.
Ranzal: *yawn* They were the ones what cleaned up when I knocked my milk over yesterday!
Ranzal: Real nice bunch'a fellers.
Euden: I figured pirates would be pretty unruly, but your crew is different. They're far more...domestic than I expected.
Cleo: Indeed, Ranzal here is closer to a traditional pirate than they are.
Karina: Gahar har har! Wonderful!
Karina: I'm really proud of my men, so it makes me happy to hear others recognize 'em.
Karina: Oh, by the way, breakfast is ready.
Euden: They cooked breakfast?!
Karina: Gahar har! What a reaction!
Karina: No, I did the cooking this time, but thanks anyway.
Euden: I'm really having to rethink everything I thought I knew about pirates...

Euden: Hah! Hah! Haaaaaah!
Karina: There you are! I never thought I'd find you training—you really are hardworking for a fancy, milk-fed prince.
Euden: ...Milk-fed? Er, I mean, what brings you here this late in the day, Karina?
Karina: I was doing some late-night baking and wondered if you might wanna join me for some tasty snacks.
Euden: I'm still impressed at how much domestic stuff you pirates do. ...Also, I'd LOVE a late-night snack.
Euden: But I still have a little training left. Mind waiting for a bit?
Euden: I need to keep getting stronger, and I haven't done enough yet.
Karina: Yar, of course! I'll be riiight heeere watching you until you're done.
Euden: Er, thanks. ...Hah! Haaah!
Karina: I really can't get enough of your eyes. There's just something about your gaze that's so...gaze-y.
Karina: Most royals have the dead-black eyes of a bored squid, but not you! Those puppies are full of life and determination.
Karina: This world would be a much better place if all rulers were like you.
Euden: Hah! Hraah! You're pretty tough on... royals, aren't you? Haaah!
Karina: You know it! Course, I used to be one, so there's that.
Euden: Wait, what? You did?
Karina: You stopped moving there, Princey. If you're gonna train, stick at it until ya drop from exhaustion.
Euden: O-oh... Sorry... Hah! Haaah!
Karina: But yeah, I used to be a princess in a country a long, long ways from here.
Karina: I lived in a giant castle, had tons of people wait on me, ate fine meals, was up to my eyeballs in jewelry... You know the drill.
Karina: It was the kind of lifestyle that most folks only dream of, and it was handed to me from the day I was born.
Euden: ......
Karina: But the reality of that life? ...Blech.
Karina: It's nothing but petty arguments about succession, and worthless factional disputes with other equally hapless royals.
Karina: I was surrounded by mad dogs who cared for no one but themselves.
Karina: There wasn't a single royal I knew who I could respect in even the slightest way.
Karina: So I just tried to tune it all out and keep moving, until the day I noticed that my eyes were...dead.
Euden: Which is when you decided to take off and head for the high seas?
Karina: Yar, that's about the long and short of it.
Karina: ...Heh. What's gotten into me? Not often I open up like this.
Karina: Sorry for ramblin' on until your brain oozes out your ears.
Karina: Anyway, I'll leave this batch of treats here. Just wolf 'em down whenever you're done.
Karina: Oh, and make sure to take a bath, because you smell like the hold of a ship.
Euden: I knew she was a good captain, but I had no idea she used to be a princess.
Euden: Still, she could have left and done anything she wanted...so why become a pirate?

Pirate: Arr, Cap'n! All the goods and food we need be gathered!
Karina: Nice. Go take five, then let's get ourselves back to the castle.
Euden: Sorry for asking you to help with all this, Karina.
Karina: Yar! Don't worry about it.
Karina: You're givin' us a roof over our heads— this is the least we can do.
Karina: You oughta take a break yourself.
Karina: I'm gonna check and make sure we got everything we need in the meantime.
Euden: Think I'll take you up on that. Thanks.
Karina: All right, Euden. We should get goin—
Euden: ......
Karina: Hmm? What're you staring at? ...Hey, isn't that the way to the capital?
Euden: Yeah. Whenever I'm far from home, I always find myself staring at it. ...Or in the direction of it, at least.
Karina: Lemme tell you something, Princey.
Karina: It's rob or be robbed out there. If someone robs you first? Rob 'em right back!
Euden: Is that some kind of pirate credo?
Karina: Gahar har har! Not quite.
Karina: It's something I learned from experience when I was 14 years old.
Euden: What happened?
Karina: Someone tried to take my life.
Karina: I was born royal—as you know—but I couldn't stand the restrictive lifestyle I had to lead in the castle.
Karina: But I ALSO couldn't change the position I'd been born into. I couldn't take charge of my own fate. I was trapped.
Karina: ...Or at least that's what I kept telling myself as I got more and more miserable and my eyes got more and more dead.
Euden: ......
Karina: So on my 14th birthday, it was decided that I should be married off.
Karina: The prince who was chosen was a real piece of work. Stubborn, sly, power hungry, and just an all-around nasty guy.
Karina: All I could think was, ＂I'm gonna be givin' my whole life to THIS joker?＂
Karina: Just the thought made me wanna hurl... which is when I finally reached my limit.
Euden: So that's when you fled the castle?
Karina: Yep. Although I prefer to think of it as the day I took my life back.
Karina: I made it about 10 feet before my current crew found and captured me.
Karina: We fought. I won. Before I knew it, I was their captain. And at that moment, I finally understood what freedom was.
Karina: So it doesn't matter whether you use brains or force—when you set your heart on somethin', get out there and do it.
Karina: 'Cause your life is yours, and yours alone, by gar!
Karina: And I have every faith that you'll make your dream come true.
Euden: Wow. That is one heck of a pep talk.
Euden: And I won't let you down, Karina. No matter what happens, I will not fail.
Rowing with Your Crew
Pirate 1: *sob* Caaaaaaap'n!
Pirate 1: We'll be makin' ye proud, by gar, and we'll never forget ye!
Karina: Ugh! Have some dignity already!
Karina: You're going to be just fine without me. That's why I'm okay leaving.
Pirate 2: Yar, we'll protect yer ship from man or beast, and we'll keelhaul any who besmirch the good name'a Captain Karina!
Euden: It sure is quiet in here today. ...Say, where's Karina's crew?
Euden: I hope nothing happened.
Karina: Hey, Euden.
Euden: Hello, Karina. Er, what's going on?
Euden: What happened to your crew?
Karina: I sent them back to the ship.
Karina: Also, I...uh...resigned. As captain, I mean.
Euden: Oh. That's... Wait, why?
Karina: We can't have a bunch of pirates hangin' around this joint forever. It's gonna scare everyone off.
Karina: Also, our ship has been stuck in port for a while. It's time to go.
Karina: That's why I'm leaving it all to them.
Euden: So you're not a pirate anymore?
Karina: Bite your tongue, you scurvy dog!
Karina: I've got no intention of givin' up the pirate life. Not now.
Karina: But for the moment, I'm rowing with your crew instead.
Karina: *sigh* Still...
Euden: What is it?
Karina: It's just a shame YOU can't be a pirate.
Karina: Then I'd truly have everything.
Euden: Me? A pirate? I don't think so.
Karina: I'm being completely serious over here. I think it's worth considering.
Karina: You're carrying a pretty heavy burden on your shoulders right now.
Karina: People always expect royalty to part the seas for breakfast and sew 'em back up before lunch.
Karina: And you could have run from all that, but you took it on for the sake of your people.
Karina: So if the time ever comes where it all starts to feel like too much, it's okay to just...let go.
Karina: And if that leaves you rudderless, you're welcome to come sign on with me and the boys.
Euden: ...Thank you, Karina.
Euden: But I know that if I run away now, I'll regret it for the rest of my life.
Euden: You fled the castle you grew up in because of the opposite reason—you knew you'd regret it if you DID stay.
Euden: No matter the reason, I don't want to live a life of regret, which is why I'm going to keep on fighting.
Karina: Gahar har har! I knew that'd be your answer. I saw it in your eyes.
Karina: Well, so long as you keep on fighting, I'll be right there by your side, Euden.
Karina: I'm curious where this voyage you're on is going at the end of the day!
