Ranzal: Eh? What's a little girl like you doing out here all by yerself?
Maribelle: Hey! I'm old enough to be out on my own!
Euden: Uh, Ranzal? Who's the kid?
Ranzal: No idea. She was just wanderin' around outside the castle. I think she's lost.
Maribelle: I'm not lost—I'm here to complain!
Euden: Er, did we do something to offend you?
Maribelle: Don't play dumb, unless you wanna make me madder than I already am!
Maribelle: You built this big stupid castle here, and it scared all the forest animals!
SYS: growl*
Euden: That sounded like your stomach. Are you hungry?
Maribelle: Um...n-no, I am NOT hungry! Stop trying to change the subject!
Euden: Sorry! Sorry.
Euden: ...It's just that Cleo baked some cookies earlier, so if you ARE hungry, we could eat some while we finish talking.
Maribelle: COOKIES?! ...I mean, um, I guess I could have one. Or three. Or a dozen. But only to be polite!
Maribelle: And it's gonna take more than cookies to make me stop being mad! Got it?!
Maribelle: ...Ohmigosh, look at all the cookies! Can I really eat as many as I want?!
Cleo: Euden, who is this?
Euden: Apparently she came to complain to us about something. She was really angry.
Maribelle: *munch* *crunch* Thefe are fo good!
Cleo: She doesn't look angry to me.
Maribelle: These cookies are so yummy, lady! Did you make 'em yourself?
Cleo: I did—and far too many, at that. Please take as many as you'd like.
Maribelle: Hee hee! This place is the BEST! I'm so glad I decided to come here!
Maribelle: I walked aaaall the way here by myself, you know. From Granny's house!
Maribelle: But I got soooo hungry on the way... And this is normally my nap time, so then I got kinda...kinda sleepy...
Euden: That sounds like quite the adventure. So what was that complaint you wanted to talk to us about, anyway?
Maribelle: zzzzz...
Cleo: It seems she couldn't keep her eyes open any longer.
Euden: Heh. Well, I suppose whatever she wanted to complain about can wait.
I'm Here to Complain
Maribelle: Ooo, that sounds yummy! I...I mean, I'm not here for scones, mister! I'm here to complain!
Maribelle: Where's Euden?! I'm gonna yell at him if it's the last thing I do today!
Ranzal: Bwa ha! Yer a little firecracker, ain't ya? All right, I'll go get him. But ya might as well have a scone while ya wait, yeah?
Cleo: Hello again, Maribelle. Care for a scone?
Maribelle: Yes, please! ...But that's not why I'm here!
Maribelle: I'm only having a snack while I wait to complain!
Cleo: I understand. Are you thirsty? I could make you some tea, or perhaps see if we have any cold milk.
Maribelle: Yes, please! ...Oh, did I tell you that my granny's teaching me how to bake?
Maribelle: One of these days, I'll bring over something yummy for you!
Cleo: That sounds wonderful.
Maribelle: I know, right? Oh, and we were making these cookies earlier for practice, and we gave some to the squirrels in the forest—
Euden: Hello, Mirabelle. Ranzal said you were here. What was it you wanted to—
Maribelle: Hey, Euden! So anyway, the squirrels just love cookies with walnuts in 'em, because duh! Squirrels!
Euden: Oh. That's...very interesting. Is that all you came here to tell us?
Maribelle: No, silly! I also wanted to tell you about the new bear I made friends with!
Maribelle: And also about how all the little birds are scared of this castle and— HEY!
Maribelle: I wanna complain!
Euden: *snicker* Hey, don't let me stop you. But let's hear it before you get distracted by some random baked good again.
Maribelle: Grrr... You're making fun of me for forgetting all the time!
Euden: I wouldn't dream of it. I actually admire how you come here every day by yourself.
Euden: When I was your age, I never would have been able to voice my opinion to a room full of adults.
Maribelle: Hee hee! Really? 'Cause I was actually kinda nervous at first.
Maribelle: But I was also SUPER mad about my friends in the forest, and I knew I had to come here for their sakes!
Euden: You're a good friend, Maribelle.
Euden: I'm sorry if our castle scared your friends; that certainly wasn't our intention. You have my sincere apology.
Maribelle: Aw, thanks, Euden.
Maribelle: Now I'm gonna tell all my friends that they don't need to be scared, because everyone in this castle is SUPER nice!
Euden: Thank you for forgiving us.
Maribelle: Hee hee! Oh, but even if I don't need to complain anymore, I'm still gonna come here and play and eat all Cleo's treats!

Maribelle: I know. But I gotta go reeeeal far today, so I woke up early.
Euden: Well, be safe out there, okay?
Maribelle: Don't be silly. You're coming with me, Euden! C'mon, let's go!
Euden: Er, and where exactly are we goi— Gya!! You don't need to pull me! I'm coming!
Maribelle: I wanna introduce you to all my friends, Euden!
Maribelle: No matter how much I tell 'em how nice everyone in the castle is, they just won't listen. So I want 'em to meet you and see for themselves!
Euden: I guess that explains why we're in the forest.
Maribelle: Yep! Normally everyone's around the meadow near the lake.
Maribelle: There's this soft breeze there and the flowers smell super good, so it's the perfect spot for a nap.
Euden: That sounds nice. You really do know a lot about this forest, huh?
Maribelle: Oh, yeah! I mean, I've lived here since I was little—
Fiend: raaaaggghhh!
Euden: Uh-oh. That sounded like a fiend.
Maribelle: All the birdies flew off, and the deer are running toward us... They're coming from the meadow!
Euden: Hey, wait! Don't take off on your own!
Maribelle: Leave my friends alone, you big bully!
Euden: You can't fight that fiend by yourself, Maribelle!
Maribelle: Get behind me, everyone! I'll take care of this big stupidhead!
Maribelle: Dummies like you don't belong in my beautiful forest!
Maribelle: The next time you're mean to my friends, you're gonna pay big-time! Now get outta here and never come back!
Euden: Maribelle, that was...incredible. Chasing off a fiend with a single blow takes some powerful magic.
Maribelle: Yeah, Granny says I'm a mana whiz. Um, did I not mention that?
Maribelle: This isn't the first time I've had to use my powers to protect everyone or chase off nasty fiends that attack the forest.
Euden: I'm sorry I ever thought you needed an adult to look out for you.
Euden: It's no small feat to protect this forest and all its inhabitants by yourself.
Maribelle: Hee hee! I know, right? But someone's gotta protect it, so it might as well be me. I can't just abandon all my friends!
Maribelle: Anyway, now that the big jerk's gone, I can introduce you to everybo... Hey, where'd they go?!
Euden: Heh. I think your magic scared them off.
Maribelle: What?! Aw, boo! I was only trying to help!

Cleo: Are these sweets not to your liking, Maribelle? You've barely eaten any.
Maribelle: No, they're yummy, Cleo. It's just...
Ranzal: You all right, kid? Ya look kinda flushed.
Maribelle: I...I do? Oh.
Euden: Let me feel your forehead.
Euden: You're burning up! Cleo, make up a bed for her. I'll carry her over.
Ranzal: That better, kid? Must feel good to lie down, yeah?
Cleo: If you want anything to eat or drink, or if you need anything else at all, please just let me know.
Euden: Are you cold? I can bring more blankets.
Maribelle: Heh. You're all so nice... Thank you...
Maribelle: But this happens all the time... So don't worry...
Euden: What happens all the time?
Maribelle: Well, Granny says there are some people who are really good at using mana but are also super sensitive to it.
Maribelle: So sometimes it makes 'em sick...
Cleo: If this was caused by mana, then I'm afraid I have little idea how to treat you.
Euden: Maribelle, when this happened before, what made you better?
Maribelle: Nothin'... *sniff* I just have to wait it out...
Maribelle: But sometimes my forest friends would wait with me... That made it easier...
Euden: That sounds really rough.
Maribelle: Yeah... But I can take it if I have all my friends with me...
Euden: hat...
Euden: That actually makes me a little jealous.
Maribelle: Don't you have friends who make stuff better, Euden?
Euden: I didn't really have anyone I could call a friend when I lived in the royal palace.
Euden: Just my sister and Notte, I guess, but that was different.
Maribelle: Boo... That's sad... Well, I'll make sure you have lots and lots of friends, Euden...

Maribelle: The meadow, yep! My friends love it here.

Euden: Look at that. Birds, and squirrels, and deer, and—
Bear: raawwwrr...
Euden: Um, that is a REALLY big bear. Are all these animals really your friends? ...Especially the bear?
Maribelle: Yep! And now they're your friends too, Euden!

Maribelle: Everyone, meet Euden! He lives in that big scary castle.
Euden: Um, Maribelle? Are you listening to me?
Maribelle: Euden is suuuuper nice, but he doesn't have any friends.
Maribelle: So I was hoping all of YOU would be his friends!
Euden: Is that why you brought me here? So I could make friends?
Maribelle: Yep! C'mon, Euden— say hi to everyone!
Euden: Er...how do I DO that, exactly?
Maribelle: Aw, stop thinking about it so much and just say something!
Euden: Uh, right then... Hi, everyone. It's nice to meet you.
Maribelle: Okay, everybody, be nice to him! ...Isn't this great, Euden? Now you won't be lonely anymore!
Euden: You're absolutely right, Maribelle. Thank you.

Euden: This looks like your flower crown...
Maribelle: Yep! It's proof that we're friends. I give 'em to everybody I love.
