Summary

The prince and his allies hear from Wu Kong that the seal on the Jin Gu Er has been released, so the group once more heads to seek the counsel of the sealers. There, they find Mei Hou Wang, a fiend that was supposed to have been sealed by the Jin Gu Er. It shows no hostility, which confounds the group, and they move to escape together from the cave.

Hwaaah! Eeeyaaagh! Tch! What the HECK?! Come on, the Halidom's like RIGHT there...! Uwaaah! FAAAAALLIIIING! Slooow day. Been a long time since I've been on watch. ...Hey, look, Luca. A shooting star. Wooow, that's pretty. It's about to crash into us, though. Ahahaha! ....Wait. Eyaaaaaaagh! *cough* What in the hell?! Ranzal, Luca! What's up! Are we being attacked?! I dunno... Whoa, no kidding! It has been a while! What are you doing here though? I heard you parted ways with Xuan Zang and were training with another sealer now. Hehe, that's all pretty much over now. Now I'm traveling on my own and training, as a rookie sealer. I see. But, er...you came from the sky? Uh-huh. Got too carried away and screwed up workin' one of those Qilin relics of yours? I-I didn't get CARRIED away! Just, uh...keep this a secret from my master, okay? Ahaha, good to see you haven't changed, Wu Kong. So, did you come here with business for Xuan Zang? Oh, butts, yeah! Where is she?! She just left for a while. She mentioned something about haing sensed a powerful relic. What?! She's NOT HERE?! Couldn't be a worse time for that! It couldn't? Did something happen? Yeah... One of the great sealers sensed something seriously weird about a Qilin relic. And I wondered if it might be that the seal on the relic that the master gave me, the Jin Gu Er, had been released.  ?! Wait, you mean the thing that turned you into that Qitian Dasheng...thing?! That's not good. That relic had dangerous powers, like creating fiends and controlling people, I thought... Yeah, basically. I really can't stick around waiting for the master to get back... *wheeze* *pant* Are we sure it was a good idea for just us to come here...? It'll be fine! The master's got Yulong and his power to sense Qilin relics with her. They'll sense the weirdness with the Jin Gu Er sooner or later. Plus... Plus...what? ...Okay, I'm going to tell you all something. The reason why the Jin Gu Er produces fiends. The reason it produces fiends? Yeah, I guess now that I think about it, that's pretty weird. Why'd the Qilin tribe make something so danderous? They didn't. The Jin Gu Er was originally totally safe, and didn't have anything in it but the power to seal fiends. It apparently turned into what it is after the ancient Qilin sealed a fiend within in. Whoa. What kind of fiend are we talking? Must've been some kind of somethin' if it had to be sealed in a Qilin relic. I dunno either. But it's supposed to be called Mei Hou Wang. So then does this Mei Hou Wang have something to do with the Jin Gu Er's seal being released? Dunno that, either. It's basically unheard-of for a Qilin relic's seal to be broken. It sounds like we won't know what's going on until we go and see for ourselves. Let's hurry on to the cave where the Jin Gu Er is sealed! That's the Jin Gu Er, yes? Let's hurry and inspect it... Wait. Something's off.  ? What is? The Jin Gu Er. It used to give off a ton of power, but now I'm basically getting nothing from it. Like it's losing its power! A Qilin relic losing its power? That's a thing? ...Huh? What is it, Luca? I heard someone's voice, from inside! Grrrr! S-stay back! Graaagh! ...Gargh... Hey, are you okay?! Um, yes. Thank you. ...Who are you? A question so good I was thinkin' of askin' it to you! Ain't nobody supposed to know about this cave 'cept sealers, I hear. What're you doing in here? I...don't know. I can't remember. You can't remember? Er, do you mean that you've lost your memory? Yeah. I woke up and I was here in this cave. Beyond that...nothing. I see... So you've forgotten your name as well? My name...? I... Yes, I think I recall... It's...Mei Hou Wang. —?! Mei Hou Wang?! Wait, isn't that the name of the fiend Wu Kong just told us about?! Squeak! ...Uh, what? Squeaaak! A...squirrel? Yes. I think it's lost. It was getting attacked by a fiend earlier, so I immediately went to protect it. And then I ended up getting attacked myself. Squeak! Squeak! Hey, where are you going?! The exit, I imagine. The fiends seem to be well defeated, so I'd imagine he thinks it's safe now. I see...that's good. ...? What's up with you? You're a fiend, but you're protecting a living creature? ...Say, Mei Hou Wang? This cave hides many dangers. Will you leave with us? Oh, yes. That'd be a big help for me. Your Highness, we'll be taking him with us? Suppose he really is Mei Hou Wang... Suppose he is deceiving us? If he wanted to trick us, he wouldn't have given us that name to begin with. In any case, we can't just leave him here. Hey, if we're going, let's hurry and get to it. The darned miasma's getting real thick. At this rate, we'll have more fiends showing up! Wait, I'm gonna bring the Jin Gu Er, too! I dunno if maybe the master can take a look at it and figure out what's the deal with it. Very well. Let's collect the Jin Gu Er and set out!
