No problems, I trust?
Tomorrow's schedule is set. ...And the day after.
Things are progressing right on schedule.
No delays to report, sir.
Oh dear. I still must plan tomorrow's schedule.

Home Screen Inside
If life doesn't all go according to plan, you need a better plan.
Part of a butler's job is minding your health, sir, so I shall manage meals, baths, and bedtimes.
I am not a man of faith, but I respect any philosophy that reveres orderliness in life.
A balanced diet is the key to good health, sir. You'll eat no loathsome sweets on my watch.
I've never once felt my duties as butler were a burden. Perhaps I was born for this.
Mind the ticking of the clock, and you'll find your schedule comes into order naturally.

Home Screen Portrait
Are you taking sufficient care of yourself sir? Carelessness quickly bears ill fruit.
Master and servant are faces of the same coin. If only one is worthy, the sum has little worth.
Beg pardon sir, but an insect had alighted on your back. I saw to its removal.
I do not offer stern words for the of pleasure it. My lessons are of vital importance.

There is no task beyond a butler's ability.
A butler's joy comes from living at the side of a worthy master.
Loyalty such as mine demands stern words. A butler mustn't coddle.
Our arrangement ends the moment I deem you an unworthy master. Do stay focused, sir.

At The Halidom
Do you require my assistance, sir?
Punctuality is a virtue.
What AM I going to do with you, sir?

Adventurer Story Episodes

Episode 1

Perfect Butler

( Outside the Castle )

Edward: Pardon me, but might I find Master Euden in this castle?
Euden: Oh, yes, that's me.
Edward: Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Edward.
Edward: Would you have any interest in employing me as your butler?
Euden: Well, I don't know that we really need a butler right n-
Ranzal: A butler? Saaaay! So what's a guy like you do, anyway? Buttle?
Cleo: Would we be free to call upon you as well if Euden wished it?
Euden: Gaah! When did you two get here?
Edward: I will lend my services to any and all whom my master wishes, should I come under his employ.
Ranzal: Yer serious?!
Ranzal: Euden, ya gotta hire this guy!
Ranzal: He could really help me out with my chores! Repairin' the castle, takin' care of my weapons- everything!
Cleo: And I could use someone to help me with cooking and keeping our supplies stocked.
Edward: Well, there you have it. What say you, Master Euden?
Euden: Hmmm... All right. If that's what they want, then you're hired.
Edward: Splendid.
Edward: Now then, let us get right to your scheduled tasks for the day.
Edward: Hmm... It seems you've only completed about half of them.
Edward: You shal have to finish training and patrolling the area before lunch.
Euden: I was actually thinking of eating first, since I'm already pretty hungr-
Edward: Unacceptable. Any task scheduled for the morning must be completed by noon.
Edward: After all, that is when you are due to battle some fiends.
Euden: Wait, but that hardly leaves me any time to eat-
Edward: Such are the consequences when you dally in the morning.
Edward: Rest assured, you shall have plenty of time for lunch tomorrow.
Euden: But...
Edward: It was you who wished to hire me as your butler, was it not?
Euden: I...
Edward: As such, while I tend to your daily needs, I shall determine if you are truly worthy of being my master.
Edward: Worry not; I shall manage every facet of your life from here on.
Edward: You shall be an exemplary master in no time.
Edward: Assuming you don't break before that happens, of course.
Euden: Uh... C-Cleo? Ranzal?
Ranzal: ...Ya know what? I should probably just handle things m'self.
Ranzal: So, uh, I'm gonna go make some repairs to the castle!
Cleo: Nor do I require any assistance.
Cleo: Organizing our inventory is a job handled easily by one person.
Euden: D-don't just leave me here...
Edward: Come, Master Euden.
Edward: There is too much to be done for you to pass another moment in idleness. We must begin at once.

Episode 2

More like a Drill Sergeant

( In the Bedroom )

Edward: Good morning, master.
Edward: Please get dressed at once.
Edward: You have slept for longer than scheduled.
Euden: Huh? But I woke up way earlier than usual today...
Edward: Making excuses only wastes more time.
Euden: Fine, fine. I'll get changed.
Elisanne: May I come in, Euden?
Euden: Wait, Elisanne? What is she doing here?!
Edward: She has come for a meeting regarding today's campaign.
Edward: I took the liberty of scheduling it yesterday.
Euden: I can't have a meeting while I'm in the middle of changing!
Edward: Had you started your day as scheduled, you would be changed and sipping tea at this very moment.
Edward: Let this serve as a lesson to avoid oversleeping in the future.
Edward: Now then... I believe we've kept Madam Elisanne waiting long enough.
Edward: I shall get the door.
Euden: W-wait!

( Timeskip )

Euden: *sigh* Lunchtime at last...
Edward: You are holding your spoon incorrectly, Master Euden.
Euden: So? It's not like anyone's watching. Or cares, for that matter.
Edward: Royalty must always adhere to proper etiquette. Anything less would be unbecoming.
Edward: Now, please adjust your grip.
Euden: Fine... There.
Edward: It is improper to make such a racket while one eats.
Edward: Your spoon strikes the bowl each time you dig at the soup.
Euden: Will you just let me eat?!
Edward: Ah, it is almost time for battle. Come.
Euden: Hold on, I haven't even had a single bite!
Edward: I will prepare a light meal instead. If your schedule is delayed further, however, I'm afraid you won't have time to eat that either.

( Timeskip; Scenery Change to Forest )

Edward: Master Euden, you are slouching.
Edward: Royalty must always remain tall and dignified, even as they march.
Ranzal: Bwaaa ha ha ha!
Ranzal: Ya just can't catch a break, can ya? Shoula billed himself as a drill sergeant, not a butler.
Euden: None of this is funny.
Ranzal: Ah, c'mon.
Ranzal: Having someone to manage every aspect of yer life is probably great for yer health-
Edward: Master Ranzal!
Edward: Please refrain from any side chatter. It slows your pace, which will adversely affect the reast of today's schedule.
Ranzal: Hey now, don't go worryin' about me. You're Euden's butler, not mine.
Edward: A master is only as strong as his weakest subject, I fear.
Edward: Now then, Master Ranzal, you really ought to straighten your own posture as well. Chin up, eyes forward, and pace steady.
Ranzal: Ugh... Is he always like this, Euden?
Ranzal: You were right. It ain't funny at all.

Episode 3

A Butler's Duty

( In the Forest )

Euden: Hyaaaahh!
Euden: *pant* *pant*
Euden: I didn't expect so many fiends...
Edward: This is most vexing...
Edward: The schedule calls for you to defeat one fiend every three minutes, but you are taking far longer.
Edward: At this rate, your remaining commitments will be affected.
Edward: Please make haste, master.
Euden: I'm going as fast as I can!
Ranzal: Edward!
Ranzal: We can't be worryin' about schedules in the middle of battle!
Edward: It is my duty to ensure my master stays on schedule!
Edward: Though he is falling further and further behind...
Edward: So be it.
Edward: This is not becoming of a butler, but I am left with no other choice...
Ranzal: Huh? H-hey, what're ya doin'?!
Euden: Edward, no! You can't take on all those fiends by yourself!
Fiend: Graaaagghhhh!
Edward: Too slow.
Euden: What...?
Edward: Careless.
Edward: I shall grant you a swift end.
Ranzal: No way... He cleared out that entire pack'a fiends by himself!
Euden: I had no idea you were so strong, Edward!
Edward: My profession calls for a holistic approach to service.
Edward: A butler too weak to protect his master is no butler at all.
Ranzal: Ya shoulda been out there fightin' from the start instead of fussin' about the time!
Edward: It is a butler's duty to support his master as imperceptibly as possible.
Edward: I wouldn't dare risk stealing glory from my master unless absolutely necessary.
Euden: You're such a skilled fighter, though...
Euden: When do you even find time to train on top of all your butlering?
Edward: After you've retired to your quarters, of course. Then I tran as much as I'm able.
Euden: You train when I'm sleeping?! And yet you still wake up before me each morning...
Euden: I thought managing my schedule was taxing enough for you, but that seems foolish knowing you're doing so much extra work...
Euden: I'll strive to be better, Edward.
Edward: A splendid attitude. I shall increase your responsibilities accordingly.
Euden: Wh-what?! I...I mean... Yes! Definitely do that!
Edward: Oh?
Edward: I must say, that is a better response than I'm accustomed to hearing from you, Master Euden.
Edward: You may not be far off becoming a master worthy of my service.

Episode 4

Past Masters

( Inside the Castle at Night )

Euden: Phew... Good work today, Edward.
Edward: You were in fine form yourself, Master Euden.
Edward: Good night.
Euden: Say, Edward? Can I ask you something?
Edward: Certainly. But if I may, please keep it brief; I must prepare tomorrow's schedule.
Euden: Why are you so dedicated to being a butler?
Edward: Hmm...
Edward: I suppose I may confide in you.
Edward: My former master taught me my trade.
Edward: War left me an orphan, but he gave me a home.
Edward: I am the butler I am today thanks to him.
Euden: What happened to him?
Edward: He fell ill and passed away.
Euden: Oh... I'm sorry. This must be difficult.
Edward: There is no need to apologize, master. ...Yet, in truth, I have been unable to overcome the pain of his loss.
Edward: It is something I wish to never experience again.
Euden: Then why did you want me to hire you?
Edward: A butler has no purpose without a master.
Edward: Besides, I could not let the skills my late master taught me go to waste.
Edward: I continue to serve him, even in death, through my dedication to butlering.
Euden: I see.
Euden: You're too hard on yourself, Edward.
Euden: I can understand taking pride in your work, and I truly respect that.
Euden: But if you don't let yourself rest every now and then, you're going to run yourself into the ground.
Edward: Wh-what did you say?!
Edward: My...my late master said the same...
Edward: He was...peculiar.
Edward: In one breath he would tell me that butlers must maintain a respectful distance from their masters...
Edward: And in the next, he would treat me like his own son.
Euden: He sounds like a good man.
Edward: He was the best. After he died, I served many different people.
Edward: I traveled endlessly in search of someone as worthy of my service as he was, but alas, to no avail.
Edward: And then I met you, Master Euden.
Edward: Perhaps you could be...
Edward: Ah! I've spent far too long talking.
Edward: Tomorrow's duties will be impaired if you don't rest soon.
Euden: All right... Thanks again for today, Edward.
Edward: Of course, Master Euden. Good night.

Episode 5

Butler Bliss

( Inside the Castle )

Edward: Master Euden, do you have a moment?
Euden: What is it, Edward?
Euden: I've already taken care of all the things you normally remind me about.
Edward: Indeed, you have made tremendous progress.
Edward: But that is not what I have come to discuss.
Euden: No? What is it, then?
Edward: When we first met, I said something.
Edward: I told you I would determine whether you were worthy of calling yourself my master.
Edward: Having now spent some time under your employ, I have come to my decision.
Euden: Hmm. I'm a bit scared to hear the answer, but go ahead and tell me your verdict.
Edward: Ahem! As a master- and indeed, even as royalty- you are imperfect.
Edward: Firstly, you are far too kind.
Edward: People will not follow you simply because you smile and offer understanding.
Edward: Secondly, you are too quick to trust others.
Edward: This is likely to lead you to an early grave.
Edward: Thirdly, you have an awful tendency to place yourself on the front lines of battle.
Edward: You would do well to consider the burden that places on those who would protect you.
Euden: I see.
Euden: I'm sorry, Edward. I had a feeling I wasn't worthy of your services.
Edward: You misunderstand me.
Edward: I mean to say that you are still very much in need of my guidance.
Edward: Therefore, if you will have me, I would like to continue working here as your butler.
Euden: Y-yes! Absolutely!
Euden: Does that mean you deem me...worthy? Of your service?
Edward: For the moment.
Edward: You may be inexperienced, but you possess all the qualities that make a master worth serving.
Edward: A butler's greatest pleasure in life is sharing that life with his master.
Edward: So I would like to stay here for a while.
Edward: I wish to work for you and share whatever life has in store for us.
Euden: Well, that sounds fine.
Euden: Heh. I'm really glad you're sticking around, Edward.
Edward: The pleasure is mine.
Edward: But please, do not mistake this for an excuse to grow lackadaisical.
Edward: I will be updating my appraisal of you in perpetuity.
Euden: Fair enough.
Edward: Hm... Not even a flinch.
Edward: You have grown strong, Master Euden. A far cry from the prince I first met.
Euden: Hearing that is a nice confidence boost.
Euden: But any improvements you've seen are purely a result of your guidance.
Edward: What a splendid man you've become.
Edward: It seems I should expect more from you going forward.
Edward: Ready yourself, master.
Euden: I look forward to it, Edward.
Edward: As do I.
Edward: My new master...

The End.
