Euden: Each enemy seemed stronger than the last today. Is everyone all right?
Ranzal: Why ya worryin' about us? Yer the one what took the brunt of it.
Cleo: We've nearly returned to the castle. I shall tend to your injuries there.
Ranzal: Uh, guys? There's somebody standin' in front of the gates.
Hildegarde: Euden, I presume? You are wounded... Allow me.
Euden: Whoa! I'm...completely healed.
Hildegarde: Now for your companions...
Ranzal: Now THAT'S impressive!
Cleo: You may pass me over. I have nothing with which to compensate you for your service.
Hildegarde: Pay it no mind; the goddess bids us live with no thought of wealth. I seek no compensation from those I heal.
Cleo: You provide such wondrous healing free of charge?
Hildegarde: Please, put your doubts aside and allow me to treat you. I cannot bear to leave anyone in pain.
Euden: You have our thanks, whoever you are.
Hildegarde: My name is Hildegarde. I am a senior priestess of the Church and am in charge of an abbey.
Euden: If I'm not mistaken, the Church has only a handful of such senior leaders.
Cleo: That explains your powers. Few are capable of such feats of healing.
Hildegarde: My office is not of importance. I have come here to ally myself with you.
Euden: Oh? Why would someone of your stature want to align themselves with us?
Hildegarde: Some time ago, the goddess appeared to me in a vision and commanded that I aid you, Euden.
Ranzal: A ＂vision,＂ eh? Sounds like a load'a bull.
Hildegarde: ...Excuse me?
Hildegarde: How dare you insinuate I would...LIE! I swear it before the goddess herself, I never utter falsehoods!
Ranzal: I, uh... Sorry. Should've said nothin'.
Hildegarde: Heed my words: there is nothing more despicable than lying. Such filth will never pass my lips.
Hildegarde: Euden, I swore to the goddess I would aid you. I beseech you now, allow me a place in your castle.
Euden: ...Very well. If you say you're my ally, you are most welcome.
Hildegarde: Thank you. I honed these powers to serve the goddess, and they will serve you just as well.
Ranzal: Uh, hey... You sure about this?
Euden: What harm could come of it? She seems nice enough...I think.
Euden: Though we probably shouldn't lie in her presence. She seems...serious about it.

Hildegarde: I...I can't believe this... How can this be?!
Euden: Is something wrong, Hildegarde?
Hildegarde: Oh, something is very wrong indeed! There are far too many in this castle who disrespect the teachings of the goddess!
Ranzal: Ya think? I don't get that impression.
Hildegarde: Of course you wouldn't, Ranzal!
Hildegarde: You have a taste for banquets and eat enough in one sitting to feed entire families! Greed and gluttony are sins!
Ranzal: W-well, that's... I mean, sure, but...
Euden: She's got a point, Ranzal. You do have quite the appetite.
Hildegarde: And you, Euden!
Euden: Wait, me?
Hildegarde: You are our leader! You cannot continue to show such lenience toward those who disrespect the goddess!
Hildegarde: Austerity, obedience, purity—this is what the goddess teaches! This is what must be exemplified by all!
Cleo: Come now. None of us can claim to be perfect. That's why we have clergy like you, yes? To help remind us?
Hildegarde: That is true. But even so, following the teachings and giving thanks to mana are the very basics of being a follower of Ilia!
Hildegarde: When was the last time any of you did so? You must adopt it into your daily routines!
Euden: Y-yes... I understand.
Hildegarde: I should hope you do. Now then, let us pray to the mana to express our gratitude.
Euden: What? Here?!
Hildegarde: Where else? Now, I will recite the prayer of thanks, and you will repeat after me.
Ranzal: ...Fine. Let's get this over with.
Cleo: You too, Euden.
Euden: Guess we should probably just go along with her, uh, demands.
Hildegarde: Hm? Is something the matter?
Euden: N-no! Nothing!

Euden: Sh-she's so scary when she smiles. We'd better stay on her good side!

Fiend: Graaagghh...
Hildegarde: The fiend still lives. We must be certain of its demise before claiming the task complete. Ha!
Elisanne: That fiend would have soon perished had we left it be, Hildegarde. Should we not avoid spending our energy needlessly?
Hildegarde: The Church teaches that fiends are abominations undeserving of even the slightest mercy.
Ranzal: There's that fire and brimstone again...
Hildegarde: Now that the fiends have been dispatched, I can heal the wounded. Come.
Hildegarde: You are next, Ranzal.
Ranzal: Me? Nah, I'm all right.
Hildegarde: Do you aim to anger me?
Ranzal: What? No! What'd I do now?!
Hildegarde: Time and again I have warned you not to lie in my presence. Do not attempt to hide your wounds from me.
Ranzal: Th-this is just a scratch! Ain't nothin' to worry about.
Hildegarde: Even the smallest scratch may turn fatal if left untreated. Come, let me heal you.
Ranzal: Uh, thanks, I guess?
Hildegarde: Do not hesitate to seek my help in the future. Now then, who else is wounded?
Ranzal: Kinda hard to believe this is the same lady who just mercilessly finished off that fiend.
Euden: Right? Though I suppose her actions come from her adherence to the teachings of the goddess.
Euden: If you look at it that way, there's really no difference between Hildegarde the warrior and Hildegarde the healer.
Ranzal: Guess that's the level of commitment ya gotta have to be a senior priestess. It's pretty impressive!
Hildegarde: Oh! The time of prayer is upon us! We must kneel and give thanks to the goddess!
Euden: H-here? Now?!
Hildegarde: There is no excuse to neglect prayer, no matter the time or place. Now kneel!
Ranzal: Maybe ya really can be too committed...

Euden: *sigh* Back at last! I wasn't sure my arms would be able to carry all these supplies.
Hildegarde: Indeed. Euden, this calls for a nice long rest once you've brought everything in.
Cleo: I see you had a productive day of shopping. Welcome back.
Euden: We did. I'm going to go put all of this away. It'll just take a second.
Hildegarde: ......
Euden: Is something wrong, Hildegarde?
Hildegarde: N-never mind me! I... It's good to be home.
Cleo: Er, indeed. Welcome back.
Euden: That was...strange. I wonder what's on her mind.
Hildegarde: Home...
Euden: Are you all right, Hildegarde? You were acting odd when we got back.
Hildegarde: It's nothing! Just...
Hildegarde: I haven't had anyone to welcome me back in quite some time. It touched me.
Euden: How long has it been?
Hildegarde: Since I arrived at the Church as a young girl, I have always been the one to greet those who come seeking guidance...
Euden: You've been there since you were a child?
Hildegarde: Yes. It must have been...oh, 20 years since I first joined the Church.
Euden: That's a long time.
Euden: Why do you devote so much to the Church, Hildegarde?
Hildegarde: Well...
Hildegarde: Please do not speak a word of this to the others, but...my parents gave me up to an orphanage.
Hildegarde: They promised they would return for me someday, so long as I committed myself to the teachings of the goddess.
Hildegarde: But that was a long, long time ago, and they have yet to return.
Euden: You've adhered to the goddess's teachings all this time because of that promise?
Hildegarde: Not at all. I follow the goddess because I do not wish to become anything like my parents.
Hildegarde: I do not want to be the kind of person who makes and breaks promises so easily. There...there is no part of me that wishes to see my parents now.
Hildegarde: ...But enough of this.
Hildegarde: I have bored you long enough. Please put it from your mind. Excuse me.
Euden: You say you don't want to see your parents, Hildegarde, but are you sure it's the truth?
Devotion and Belief
Elisanne: Hildegarde! Impeccable timing; we were just about to start a meeting to discuss the coming battles.
Hildegarde: ......
Euden: She walked right past us...
Elisanne: It didn't seem she even noticed we were here. She has not been herself of late.
Euden: I think I can guess why. Let's talk later, Elly. There's something I need to do first.
Euden: Hildegarde, wait! Hildegarde!
Hildegarde: What? Oh. Do you need something, Euden?
Euden: Yes. When you told me about your parents the other day, it got me thinking.
Euden: You said you follow the goddess so you won't become like your parents, but really it's because you still believe in their promise, isn't it?
Hildegarde: What are you saying? I...I care nothing for their promise...
Euden: Your expression told me differently.
Hildegarde: What expression?
Euden: You looked so lonely, talking about your parents. That wasn't the face of someone who doesn't care.
Hildegarde: Stop. I do not wish to discuss this further.
Euden: Wait, Hildegarde!
Hildegarde: Leave me be!
Euden: You've been waiting for them all this time, haven't you?
Euden: Waiting for the day they come back and say how proud they are of your devotion to the Church.
Hildegarde: *sniff* Wh-why am I crying...?
Hildegarde: Oh, Ilia... I understand now. I have been lying to myself this entire time.
Euden: Have faith in your parents, Hildegarde.
Hildegarde: What?
Euden: What if something happened that prevented them from coming back for you?
Euden: You have to keep believing in them. And in the meantime, I'll be right here waiting along with you.
Hildegarde: I had lost hope for so long... But with you by my side, I feel I might have faith anew.
Hildegarde: Thank you, Euden. I will try to have faith in my parents.
Euden: I'm happy to hear that.
Hildegarde: Well... I think I shall perform a sermon for everyone in the castle to lift our spirits!
Euden: Er, I'm glad you're feeling better, but maybe go a little lighter on the preaching?
Hildegarde: You know I cannot promise that. Even to you, Euden.
