Summary

While pursuing reports of people being unable to awaken from slumber, the party is pulled into a world of dreams. It's a world created by Peony, a dreamland creature called an ljósálfar who is corrupted by black mana. In order to escape, the party must challenge her head-on.

The village I heard about is just down the road here. Here's hopin' we didn't come all this way just 'cause a buncha folks are lazy... Heck, can you blame 'em? All I want to do on a beautiful day like this is hop in the sack and catch me some... *YAAAAAAAAWN* Do not lower your guard, Luca! We've no idea what awaits us in... *YAAAAAAAAAWN* Even Elisanne is yawning now? Something is very amiss. I-I'm so sorry! I was just suddenly overwhelmed with exhaustion... *YAAAAAAAAAAWN* Yeah, I think the ol' sandman is comin' for me, too... This is just like what happened before! Everyone became sleepy the moment we approached that village. I did, my brother did, and then... *YAAAAAAAAAWN* Oh no... It's happening again... Perhaps you could have... mentioned this...sooner... I can't...go on... I'm going to... Honestly, Brother. Hngh? Wake UP already! You're going to catch your death if you fall asleep here. Z-Zethia?! What is wrong with you, weirdo? In fact, that dream world faerie ended up becoming a dear friend. She has the power to show people happy dreams, so when we were under attack from nightmares, she... Dreams are the people's rest... Dreams are the people's hopes... Yes, it was just like that, actually. Nightmares...shoo! Away with you! Peony! Oh, I'm so glad to see you! Everyone, this is the faerie from the realm of dreams I was just telling you about! Whoa, this lady is GINORMOUS! ...I mean, for a faerie. No wonder you thought I was so teeny. Yes, she's nearly my size! Anyway, everything should be all right now that Peony is here. Hold on, Sharena. Doesn't she seem a bit...odd to you? Odd how? This is the realm of dreams. It is a happy place for children. Grown-ups do not belong here. Adults steal happy dreams from children. Adults are the real nightmares. Nightmares...shoo! Away with you! P-Peony? What's going on? Or did she actually CREATE them? Peony would never do that! She and I are friends! Yeah, on a normal day, I'm sure she is. But I think I see the problem here... What is that black mist?! That's what we call "black mana." It has the power to corrupt any living creature, twisting it in both body and soul. No! We have to save Peony! If we fight her and force her to burn through all of the black mana that's coursing through her, it should— We have to fight Peony?! I know exactly how you feel, but I promise that this will end with her salvation. Stand back, if you like, and let us take this burden up ourselves. N-no! I can't ask all of you to fight her without me! I'll...I'll be okay. I mean, even best friends fight sometimes, right? You have it out, and then you're even better friends than you were before!
