|Lily is water's first real ranged damage dealer and she's living up to her name. Not only does she bring 2 nukes to the fight, she also freezes with her first ability. Combine this with her 100% Skill Prep, and you've got a unit who can freeze enemies right from the start of the fight. Her main downside is her first passive, Full HP= Str+15%, as she'd much rather have Skill Damage up like Maribelle. She also has no way of restoring her own HP and has to rely on teammates to do so in order to keep the passive up.
+
|She’s a very powerful magician with 100% Skill Prep and a freeze on her S1. Freezing the enemy allows the entire party to safely lay on more DPS, and as a wand user she will charge this skill fast and use it often. Full HP = Strength brings extra damage to the table, but is hard to maintain since the water element lacks strong healers. Her 5* wand has an attack skill, giving her even more damage.

|If Xander were to go to any restaurant, he'd order Overdrive bars to eat. Seriously, he eats through these things really fast because of his combination of being a sword and having increased Force Strike damage. For the uninitiated, Sword units do 8x damage to Overdrive bars (not actual damage, just how fast the bar depletes) on Force Strikes. His first passive even rewards him for spamming Force Strike, and each stack of his first passive then boosts his 1st skill by 5%. Overall, Xander is a really solid sword unit who capitalizes on getting bosses to Break asap.
+
|He has a very coherent and powerful force strike-centric kit. His strength boosts from Striker’s Strength also boost Majestic Tide, allowing him to get very, very strong in quests with a lot of enemies, such as Fire IO and Facility Events. Even without, the simple 1-2-force strike combo allows him to dish out far more damage than other swords. Additionally, he has 3 attack skills with the 5* water sword.

|Elisanne only has 1 offensive skill. However, she makes up for this by having a party-wide Strength buff. With her buff extension factored in, she buffs the entire party's Strength by 20% for 18 seconds. Not only that, the buff also charges really quickly: she needs about 3 full combos to fully charge it again. This means she can pretty much have a permanent uptime on the buff, counteracting the afct that she only has 1 damaging skill. However, her damage leaves much to be desired and her stats and resistance passives are worse than 4* units that arent free. But, if you're looking for a good utility unit, Elisanne does the job.
+
|Dragonyule Cleo already does good damage thanks to High HP = 13% Strength, and she’ll make everyone in the room do a lot more thanks to her S1, which not only freezes enemies in place, but also applies strength and critical buffs in later stages to pile on huge damage. As an extra bonus, she’s also capable of stacking her own energy to max without the help of allies.

|Dragon Claws and Dragon Time make Xainfried the most optimized character for raid style content thanks to the overwhelming Dragon Prep meta. |Xainfried's as close to a "jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none" unit as you're going to get in Water. He's got a stacking buff which increases his Strength whenever he transforms, as well as increased dragon time. He also has a team-wide 20% strength buff for utility, and a decent HP stat. Unfortunately, he takes a while to get rolling due to having to charge the dragon meter, and there are better pure dps, tank or utility units. That said, if you don't mind the tradeoffs and want the complete package in one unit, Xainfried's your go-to.
+
|He’s all about stacking crit rate with his HP 70 = Critical Rate and Flurry Devastation. As long as he can maintain both skills’ criteria, his DPS is good, and he has additional value since he also has access to freeze.

|Elly is a rare support character with an S1 buff, so its potency and charge time are much better than average, and it’s backed up by her buff time skill allowing for frequent 19 second 20% strength buffs that contribute far more to overall team DPS than a second attack skill would.

|Karina's got 2 damaging skill with high damage multipliers. This combined with her being an axe unit and having access to Stun Res makes her a solid unit for Imperial Onslaught. The 4* water axe also synergises very well with her kit. Since it buffs her Defense, she gets a 5% damage increase on her first skill and it activates her healing doublebuff. However, the total healing amount is relatively low, maxing out at 15% over 15 seconds. A Defense buff is also not very useful for clearing enemies with.
+
|While she has a lot going for her, with the excellent axe moveset, two attack skills, and access to a 5* weapon with another attack skill, but she can’t make the most of her passive Healing Doublebuff without making some suboptimal choices. With the 4* water axe she can trigger it herself (and miss out on the massive DPS boost a 5* elemental gives), or a team slot can be sacrificed to Thaniel, the only water unit with a team defense buff, to activate it for her. She’s still an excellent unit, but not currently at her full potential.

|Defense buffs are not in high demand for clearing content. As such, Thaniel would much rather have a second healing ability instead. Gauge Inhibitor is also not a very remarkable passive and Thaniel would've preferred a different passive. He does get a Recovery Potency up passive however which lets him heal for a respectable amount with his first skill.

|Orsem has 2 offensive skills with a good Strength stat to back them up. His second skill also inflicts Freeze, which is a very strong affliction since Brunhilda can be frozen. He also gets a respectable amount of crit from his passives.
+
|Her solid strength stat is backed up by her powerful S2 strength buff and her HP 70 = 8% Strength. While she has unoptimized passive abilities, her damage and ability to freeze won’t disappoint.

|Celliera is basically a poor man's Orsem. Like Orsem, she's got access to Freeze, and her HP 70 = Strength Up passive is a nice boost to her damage. However, unlike Orsem, she's got a Strength buff instead of a damaging skill. The duration and strength of this buff is not enough to make up for the lack of a damaging ability. However, access to Freeze makes her a strong unit overall.
+
|Very similar to, but slightly overshadowed by Orsem. He’s a little weaker and has Striker’s Strength instead of additional crit rate, but is still a solid pick. Striker’s Strength and stun resistance makes him particularly good at Fire IO.

|His passive skills aren’t terribly useful, since 5% Skill Haste is not enough to secure an extra skill use in most quests, and trying to utilize Striker’s Energy is unwieldy and underwhelming. However, his natural strength is through the roof for a 4* unit and he has an excellent S1 that has a good chance to freeze. He also has a strength buff that would skyrocket his damage contribution if it weren’t for its terrible charge time and limited range to nearby allies.

|Ricardt has access to two healing abilities, and he's the only healer with 2 team-wide heals which makes him a strong healer. However, his first passive does not help him at all and he'd prefer a passive that would actually increase his healing.
+
|Having two heals instantly places Ricardt among the better healers. His S2 is a much-coveted regen and his 4*T3 staff grants him an emergency burst heal. However, he’s held back by a slowly charging S1 and a nearly-useless passive in Full HP = Defense.

|Luther takes on a supportive role, being able to reduce both Strength and Defense. He also gets 2 damaging skills, as well as Strikers Strength, making him a good unit for Imperial Onslaught. However, his relatively low Strength and unreliable Defense Reduction (30% chance) hold him back.
+

|Cibella's first skill iprovides a team-wide shield, which negates one attack completely so long as the damage doesn't exceed 30% of the allies' max HP. Her Last Recovery helps her survive longer, but can only activate once. However, currently there's no need for a defensive utility unit and her damage leaves much to be desired.

|Jurota is basically a budget Celliera, having a Strength steroid just like her. However, his buff only lasts half as long. Broken Punisher is nice, but bosses don't stay in break for too long and usually break only once per fight. Being a 3* means he only gets 1 non-resist passive and he'd love to have a less situational passive. Quite decent but outclassed by Celliera.
+
|His strength is good for a 3* unit, but he lives in Celliera’s shadow, and his S2 awkwardly has same 25% strength boost but with half the duration. Regardless, Jurota adds additional damage through Broken Punisher and can hold his own.

|Waike inflicts the Bog status. Bog's a pretty useful status effect since it increases damage taken from all sources, effectively functioning as a team-wide Strength buff. However, his first passive is only active at full HP which makes it very unreliable. His Strength is also on the low end.
+
|His S2 can inflict bog, which massively increases the damage enemies take, but his chance to inflict bog is poor unless he has Full HP = Bog currently active. The damage potential of bog is high, but it’s difficult for Waike to inflict it often, and it’s redundant during break as any Leviathan in the room can proc bog with Tidal Wave.

|Access to 25% Skill Damage gives Nefaria an extra punch, but she lacks damage skills to make better usage of it, and the 5* water bow does not have a damage skill like the 4* bow does. Her S2 takes forever to charge and the 15% shield and single energy stage it grants are underwhelming. Flurry Freezer’s chance to freeze is incredibly low, and won’t punch through a boss enemy’s natural resistance.
