Episode 1

Sand Training

Raaaaaagh! Hmm? Isn't that Celliera? You're right. ...Hey, Celliera! What are you up to? A fool's question. I'm training, of course! Keeping one's balance is harder when running on sand, and the harder the training, the more effective it is! In other words, running on this beach allows me to build up my strength twice as fast as elsewhere. That is a very "you" thing to think about. Yeah, but you're at a BEACH! Doesn't the ol' bod deserve a rest every now and then? It's gonna be daunting to students if their instructor is so high-strung all the time. Then you think I should...relax? Hell yeah! Forget all about teachin' for a bit and just play hard! Then enjoy myself at the beach I shall. Huzzah for fun! Well, now that we've settled that, what should we do? How 'bout a game of beach flag? Whoever grabs the flag, wins! An excellent idea! Count me in! All right! Ha ha! I win again! *pant* You're way too good at this... How many victories in a row is that? *huff* *puff* ALL the victories in a row! We ain't won a single time! Ready to throw in the towel, boys? I don't know about you, Luca, but I'm exhausted. I'm going to sit this one out. Well, I ain't quitting without ONE win! That's the spirit! Never surrender! If anyone needs me, I'll be passed out in the shade over there. Ready, Luca? Aaaand...GO! *yaaawn* Hmm... I must've fallen asleep. It's so comfortable here. I wonder if those two are still... Huh? What in the...? You must be faster, Luca! Faster! Imagine yourself as a coiled spring and use the energy from your ankles to jump! Yes, Coach! ...Excellent! Your form has improved! Now give me ten laps around the beach. Yes, Coach! Ah, you're awake, Euden. I am. Er, but what's going on? I am training Luca so he actually has a chance to defeat me. Wait. You're training him to...beat you? Allow me to explain! In all the time you have wasted sleeping, he has not ONCE emerged victorious over me. In the beginning, I merely provided an observation or two and advised him to try a bit of running in the sand. And at some point that turned into a full-blown training regimen? Celliera, is this REALLY how you want to spend your vacation? Instructing others in how to defeat me? Of course! It is the joy of every teacher to be defeated by their student! But you were supposed to put training aside and relax, remember? ...Ah. That WAS the plan, wasn't it? And yet I rushed right back into training. Perhaps such is just the instructor's fate. Still, what should I do? I am concerned I will simply continue to train and not actually "enjoy" the beach at all. Well, maybe you could try to make your training more fun. Give it a seaside theme or something? Seaside-themed training? Hmm... Ah! I just thought of something other than running that might be fun on a beach! And what's that? A special kind of training where you improve cardiopulmonary function by catching fish while underwater! We could attempt this activity in that creepy submerged cave I found earlier... Oh, the possibilities are so exciting! Heh. I guess nothing perks you up more than the thought of training. Still, so long as you enjoy the beach in your own way, I guess that's what matters. I think you're right. Right then! Time to go have fun at the beach, Celliera style! ...Oh, wait. There's one thing I have to do before I go. *pant* *heave* I did my ten laps, Coach... Good man! Then it's time for one more game of beach flag! I'm ready, Coach! Then take your position. Reeeady...go! Ha! I win again! You will have to do better than that, Luca! Oh, damn it all! She can't hold back in training OR play...

Battle of the Butts

La la laaaa... Aaaand, we're done! Now I just need an opponent. What are you doing, Celliera? Well, speak of the devil! If I may ask, why did you draw that large circle on the ground? This, Estelle, is a "ring." It is where competitions take place in the eastern sport of sumo wrestling. I didn't know you were interested in eastern sports. I'm interested in anything that might prove useful in training! Sumo wrestling is all about intense combat, which HAS to be great for building up strength. I've been eager to try it for a while now. And you decided to do it here? Exactly! See, when you're wrestling, you fall over a lot, so if the ground isn't soft, that could be dangerous. Ah, so the beach is perfect for it. And now that I have my perfect ring, I need an opponent. ...Hint. ...HINT. Er, I'm not really much for wrestling, but I suppose I can try it. Right then! Let me give you a rundown of how this is done. First, I need you to join me in the ring. Easy enough. Now we stand in the center with our backs to one another. Like this? Perfect. And finally, we fight with our glutes to determine a victor! Okay, this all makes sen—Wait. Say that last part again? We fight with our glutes! Each of us uses the force and strength of our gluteus maximus to drive the other one straight out of the ring. Of all the lewd and smutty... This can't POSSIBLY be a sport! Of course it is! ...It's also great for building both your core and hips. You can try to justify its inappropriate nature all you like, but I won't do it! Hmm. Well, in that case... Hey, Euden! Uh oh. What do you say to a round of sumo? It's great for building lower body strength! I've never heard of sumo before, but I'd be happy to try— STOOOOP! Don't say one more word until you hear the details of the filthy, immoral behavior she has in store for you! Er, this is getting a little weird. She wants you to wrestle with your... your BACKSIDE! Okay, maybe a lot weird. Still, it IS a form of training, yes? And an effective one at that! Well, if Celliera is so serious about a training method, it must be legitimate. How am I the one in the wrong here?! ...No, there's no way that's true. SHE is the crazy one! Now then! Once you enter the ring, turn your back to me and— Hold on! We aren't done talking! Uh, we aren't? Fine! I'll do it! I'll...butt wrestle. No idea what changed your mind, but frankly, I don't really care. Now get into the ring, missy! Urgh... I shouldn't have said that... But public decency sometimes demands one to make the ultimate sacrifice! Ready? And...begin! Aaah! Ooof! Well done, for a beginner! But now... Hah! Hah! HAAAAAAAAH! This indecent sport should not exist, but if I'm competing, I am going to WIN! BEHOLD THE POWER OF MY BUTT! HAH! HAH! HAAAAAAAH! Goodness, what glutes she has... Finally, a true challenger approaches! But tryyyy...THIS! YAAAAH! You both left the ring at the same time! Oh well. Guess this round is a dra— YOUR GLUTES! YOUR AMAZING GLUTES! Whaaaaaat? And yet, it makes sense when you consider that a slapping motion all begins in the hips. I don't know about all that... You must teach me about slapping! I might be able to utilize it in my lower-body training. Ha ha! Celliera is nothing if not devoted. She certainly is. Perhaps I was a bit hasty when I branded this whole event as madness. I'll be happy to teach you everything you want to know, Celliera. And I will be happy to learn! All right, time for another round! But this time, I want to take YOU on, Prince Euden! Absolutely NOT!

Scouring the Deep

(Hmm... No matter where I try diving, I can't find them anywhere...) Hmm? I just felt something underfoot. ...Wait, is this a wallet? Ah, Celliera. There you are. You haven't found a wallet in this area, have you? Your timing couldn't be better! I just picked one up. That's it! That's my wallet! I can't believe how on the mark your fortune-telling was! Sorry, WHAT'S going on here? Verica used her scrying talents to locate this man's lost wallet. Well, my crystal ball didn't show me the wallet, but it DID show you, Celliera. And it turned out I had found the wallet! Goodness, that is impressive stuff. Thank you so much, miss! We're just glad you found it. I am always happy to put my abilities to good use. Wait a second... I have an idea! Tell my fortune! Certainly. What would you like to know? Fish! Fish? I've been attempting freediving fishing as a kind of underwater training. But no matter how much I try, I can't locate any tasty fish. And you want Verica to look for them in her crystal ball? Yep! Oh, and don't worry—I plan to share my haul with everyone. I have never tried looking for fish before, but will do what I can. Hmm... Yes, I see some pale blue fish swimming about contentedly... Interesting! What else? There are a great number of bubbles, as if someone is swimming nearby... And also a familiar flowy swimsuit... Julietta's wearing one of those, right? So the fish are where Julietta is! But where IS she, exactly? Isn't that her over there? It is indeed! Now it's time to swim like my life depends on it... Hiyaaaaaaah! She's really putting her heart into that! Wait, look at those teeth... Verica! That's a dorsal fin! SHAAAARK! Oh no! Look at all that splashing! I think it's attacking her! Hang on, Celliera! We'll save you! Phew! Gotcha! Whaaaaa? Guys, look at the size of this thing! I can't believe she caught a shark with her bare hands... Oh, I am SO sorry, Celliera! My fortune nearly got you killed! What are you talking about? A Test of Courage

All this fun in the sun is exhausting. I think I need a rest. Even while resting, it will be difficult to stay cool in this heat. Ell—Elisanne, I would be happy to fan you. That won't be necessary! All right—I shall scare you cold in no time! Here's one I call "The Ocean Nightmare..." And ever since, it's said that you can hear a low, sad voice coming up from the depths of the sea... THE TERRIFYING VOICE OF THE LONG-HAIRED LADY! ...... Well? What did you think? Anyone need to change their pants? Um... I...suppose...? You suck at telling stories, man. I've heard lullabies that were scarier! What?! Are you all right, Julietta? You look pale. N-not at all! I am perfectly fine. Never felt better, in fact. Julietta, look out! Only a child would be scared by such a third-rate, hackneyed story! I could see the ending coming from a mile away. Bold words! But what say you prove this bravery with a test of courage? A test of...courage? That's right. I recently discovered an eerie cave near here that's pitch black even in the middle of the day. You will go into its depths and leave a rock there to prove you made it. Then, once you're back, we'll go in after to confirm the veracity of your claim. A test of courage during the day? What manner of a coward do you take me for, madam?! This will be a simple matter! Ha ha ha! That's the spirit! Now let's get going. Hmm. I see what she meant about this particular cave being eerie. *shudder* Well, let us be done with this nonsense and get shed of this place. Hee hee! She'll never imagine that we're already in here ahead of her! Actually, why ARE we here? Asking someone to wander into a cave and place a rock there isn't a test of courage—merely an errand! They need obstacles getting in their way, which we are going to provide! And so... Whoooooooo gooooooooooes theeeeeere?! Eeek! D-did I just hear a voice? Hee hee! I got her! Okay, now it's your turn, Euden. You want ME to scare Julietta? That girl is as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. We need to toughen her up! So come on, Euden! She's counting on you! All right, let me give it a try. *ahem* Who goes...um...theeere? Eeeek! A-all right, I DEFINITELY heard something that time... THAT half-hearted mumble scared her? Lame, man. Laaaaaame. All right, let's keep this up! I took a bunch of cold, slimy seaweed and hung it from a fishing pole. Now we juuuust... Eeek! I just felt something cold on my neck! Next, I'm going to inflate this paper bag, then pop it with a BANG! Eeeek! What was thaaaaaat?! Ha! We're on a roll now! You are WAY too into this. Well, Julietta IS giving her the reactions she wanted... *sniff* Okay, this is as far in as you can go. Just put the stone down and then you can run out of here very, very quickly. Hee hee! I hope she's ready for the final test! She'll let her guard down as soon as she drops the stone—and that's when I strike! I don't know. I think she's scared enough. This is TRAINING! If you don't finish what has been started, it is all for naught. That's why I must turn my heart to stone and terrify her. It's for her own good! All right, she put the rock down. Then here...we...go! Finally! Now I can go back to... BOOOOOOOOOOO! IT'S A GHOOOOST! ...... Muh? Wow. She didn't even jump. Damnation! I failed! Hang on a second. *poke* *poke* ...... Uh, guys? Tuckered Out

Whoa, the sunset is super pretty today! It's also pleasantly cool—unlike how it was in the middle of the day. Out for a walk, Euden? I am. You? Oh, I was just having a little think while enjoying the sea breeze. Wait, YOU were having a think? The lady who does nothing but run around and scream about training all the time? Holy crap, everybody look out for the flying pigs! Even I need to think sometimes! So what were you thinking about? About how much fun I've had here at the beach. You told me that I should try to enjoy being here in my own way. And thanks to that, I managed to have a ball of a time with my training. I doubt it would have been half as fun if I'd come on my own. I'm grateful, Euden. I'm just glad you enjoyed yourself. Heh. I really am lucky. The castle is full of fine people— including you, of course. You're always joining me in my training, and letting me off when I cause trouble. I'm so glad I came to the Halidom! We could say the same to you. We've all become stronger because of your training regimens, and you've made the castle a much livelier place to boot. We're all glad to have you with us. Oh! Well, I'm honored...
