- Erasmus is named after Saint Erasmus of Formia, or "Saint Elmo". Erasmus' association with fire is in reference to "Saint Elmo's Fire", a phenomenon during thunderstorms where electricity would gather at the edges of pointed objects and create a blue, flame-shaped discharge of plasma. This would often appear on the masts of ships, where sailors would believe the phenomenon to be a sign of Saint Elmo's protection.
- In the Japanese version of Dragalia Lost, Erasmus is named Elmo, more directly referencing his origin.
