Summary

Despite her disappointment, Siren is all smiles, and her positive outlook gives courage to Cleo. When the day of the show arrives, audience members are few and far between. But Siren's singing inspires them to start trickling in— along with more than a few fiends!

Dialogue

Yeesh... Hey, Luca. How did the concert promotion go? Not great. I hit a whole bunch of towns, and the rumors got crazier in each one. Folks are really terrified, especially in towns on the coast. Sounds like we have a pretty tough road ahead of us. Lucaaa! What's the haps?! You were out promoting the show and stuff, yeah? Soooo? How'd it go? Um...it was...fiiiine? Yeah, I knew this wouldn't be easy. But thanks for trying anyway! Anyway, I'm gonna get back to the stage. Gotta keep working and whatever! She doesn't SEEM bothered, but I ain't sure I'm buyin' it. I think she's actually pretty broken up about it. If people would just give her a listen, they'd know they've got her wrong! Well, all we can do is keep working at it until the day of the performance. Right? We still got a stage to finish, seats to put out, and a damn crowd to find! If we all do our best and keep trying to spread the word, things will work out. I like that attitude! Let's get out there and give everybody a show to remember! ♪ ♪ ♪ Ah, what a melancholy song... ♪ ♪ ♪ Oh, wow! Did I wake you up? I thought I was being quiet, but I guess not. Hee hee! Enough with the false bravado, Siren. I can see how much pain you're in. So, what? I should cry or whatever? Like THAT'LL do anything! It will make you feel better. No way, girl! Not happening! Why are you so determined to do this concert when it's causing you such pain? There's almost no chance it will go well, which means you will be hurt anew. 'Cause I wanna change! Look, before I met all you guys, I was just singing to myself on empty beaches or down at the bottom of the sea, you know? No one cared about my music. Heck, no one even HEARD it. It was all just for me, and I was kinda okay with that. Or, you know—I thought I was. But then you guys all found me and said you WANTED me to sing! Yes. We needed your song. Yeah! And that made me realize that singing for myself wasn't actually what I wanted. I thought I was fine, but I was actually SUPER lonely this whole time! I was soooo crazy happy to be able to sing for all of you. It was, like, my first audience in forever. And having that audience made me wanna go get a BIGGER one! I can't give up on that now. I'll never forgive myself. Hmm. I see. Plus, even if not one single person comes to my show... I'll still have all of you. That's way better than what I had before! You're rather incredible, Siren. I envy you. Truly I do. How I wish I had the strength to clearly say "I desire this thing" and then act upon it in the way that you do. Okay, stop. You DO have that strength. You can do, like, ANYTHING. If only it were so simple. Okay, so maybe it's not easy by yourself, but you've got oodles of friends! There's nothing wrong with a helping hand—or, like, a shove, maybe? All you need is a little courage. Hmm... Okay, time to stop with the gloomy talk before we all turn into big downers. I'm ready to sing something awesome! You wanna stick around and hear it? I would love to. Then get the wax outta your ears, girl, 'cause I'm gonna belt this loud and proud! That night, lovely music echoed through the air... Well, I guess this is all we can do. Yeah, we only got a couple minutes before the curtain lifts. And there ain't a single butt in the seats! Guess this was all pretty silly. I actually thought people would come. Oh, Siren... Hmm? ...Everyone, look over there! ...... Yessss! Looks like we got an audience. ...Hey guys, welcome to Siren's concert! I heard her singing a few days back and couldn't get it out of my head! I wanna hear Siren! My child heard her singing last night and begged me to come see her. Last night...? Oh yeah! Then get the wax outta your ears, girl, 'cause I'm gonna belt this loud and proud! ♪ ♪ ♪ Ohmigosh. They heard me singing! My music actually reached them! Then keep it up! Maybe you can bring even more folks over this way! Yeah, let's get this show started! Whoa! The whole earth is quakin'! I think we got an entire mob'a people what decided to come see the show! Those aren't concert-goers... Those are fiends! Well, hellspit! Guess it ain't just folks what are bein' charmed by her tunes. Her singin' attracts FIENDS? That's really impressive! This is no time to be appraising her musical talents, Luca! F-fiends! Fieeeends! Everyone run! Oh noooo! Now they're gonna be scared of me for, like, a DIFFERENT reason! Don't worry, Siren! We'll take care of them! All right, cue the music! Welcome to the debut performance on the stage where dreams happen! And now for the openin' act... A fiend-slayin' exhibition!
