Summary

Hildegarde seems rather displeased with the cheery Valentine's atmosphere permeating the castle. And while she's typically a rigid woman, she takes her attitude a step too far this time. Sensing her unusual level of tension, the prince decides to check in with her.

Dialogue

...Hmph. Uh oh. She's even scowlier than usual. I think it's because everyone's all cheerful and excited for Valentine's. And what, pray tell, is wrong with being happy and excited about something? We're just trying to show our friends and loved ones that we care for them! Hey, don't yell at me! I love Valentine's! But she was saying it's too "frivolous." I mean, it's a special occasion—there's no harm in getting a LITTLE excited. Isn't that right, darling? After all, I want you to know EXACTLY how much I care about you. So make sure you're ready to accept every last bit of my love! Have you no sense of modesty at all?! No shame?! Fie on you! Would you please refrain from shrieking in my ear like that? What is your DEAL, lady?! I know you're a stickler for stuff, but you usually aren't this...intense. What happened? Nothing "happened." I simply find your frivolous attitudes to be completely intolerable. Well, THAT certainly killed the mood. I need a break, fast. ...Oh, I know! Would you care to join me for some random fiend-slaying, darling? Hey, good idea! We actually got a request to deal with some fiends earlier. It would be a perfect distraction. Come now, off we go! I'll not behave like the rest of you. I will maintain some semblance of dignity! Well, I guess I shouldn't have expected Hildegarde to get all cheery and excited over something like Valentine's... Still, is it worth getting SO bent out of shape over a little merrymaking? I wonder if she has some other reason for all this...? Make sure to keep an eye on her, Euden!
