Summary

After Valfarre is revived by a mysterious power, the legendary Xu Fu appears and tells the group that pyroblossoms are the key to defeating it. With those words ringing in their ears, the prince and his party once again mount an assault on the space between worlds.

GUUUUURGH! No! The passage to the Otherworld has reopened! How can such a thing be happening when we already defeated Valfarre?! UUURRRAAAAAGH! Peng Lai is ever an able protector. Look there! The passageway closes! 'Fraid that's just a temporary measure, young'uns. It'll rip itself open again soon. What happened, Peng Lai? Just like I feared, Valfarre went and got itself resurrected stronger than ever! No... That Valfarre only cares about one thing: gobblin' up as much mana as it can. So long as it's doin' that, there ain't no way to defeat it. Even worse, it looks like it found a way to start eatin' that black mana too, which means it's got an inexhaustible supply of the stuff now. I got no idea how we're gonna take out a critter what basically has eternal life. It is chilling to hear such words from you, Peng Lai. What are we to do? For now, I'm hopin' you'll grant a selfish request from an old fart of a dragon... Help m'children in Peng Lai. Take 'em and get 'em to safety. And abandon the town? A town don't mean squat without the folks inside it! Save 'em and worry about buildin' a new town once this is over. I can't believe I'm hearing this... Peng Lai is no mere town! It is my home! Eh? It is my home now as it has ever been, and I would give anything to save it. Now see here, young'un— Peng Lai, I once defied my father and attempted to spread my pyroblossoms across the land. But no matter how hard I tried, they would not accept them. They said they were a bother. A nuisance. And when I returned home with my tail between my legs, all that awaited me was the news of my parents' passing. My dreams were gone. My family was gone. And yet Peng Lai—my home— was ever there for me. The streets and shops were the same... My grandparents' love was the same... And even though I had lost everything, this taught me something: There is a kind of brilliance in having a home that never changes. Please, Peng Lai. I need THAT town. Not a rebuilt version of it. Such is my wish as well! C'mon, Gramps! Let's think of something! Heck, I don't wanna see the town go neither! But there just ain't no way we can defeat Valfarre like it is now. Such capitulation ill befits you, Peng Lai. No... It can't be! Xu Fu! The man who founded Peng Lai? The one from the legendary Qilin tribe? It has been a long time, children of Peng Lai. And what's more, it seems the one who has answered my call is a successor to the blood of dragons. Wait. That voice... It's you! YOU'RE who I heard in my dream! And I thank you for answering my call. Were you not here, opposing Valfarre would likely prove quite difficult. You speak as though you have an idea of how to combat this evil. Indeed I do. In fact, I have been preparing for this moment for over a hundred years. It's why I gave the craft of pyroblossoms to the town of Peng Lai. And what use could mere amusements be against such a wicked being? The secret is not in the pyroblossoms, but in the technicians who create them. What?! When creating pyroblossoms, technicians capture mana from the dragon-vein spring and precisely redirect it to their fireworks. That same technique can be used to remove the mana surrounding Valfarre, which will make it possible to slay the fiend once and for all. I attempted to do so a century ago, but my power was not sufficient. Thus did I spread the knowledge of pyroblossoms around the town, that I might find someone whose strength would aid my own. I cannot believe this secret was hidden with the pyroblossom technicians. But that means... Yes, Su Fang. With you here, we can defeat Valfarre for good. But in order to accomplish that, we also need warriors with the might to chip away at the fiend's seemingly limitless power. Which is why you summoned His Highness. Indeed. Forgive me for the rather undignified summons, but I could not risk moving too far from Valfarre. Think nothing of it. I'm happy to help. GRAAAAAARGH! Valfarre approaches, as does our time. Can I rely on you all? Yes. We'll travel to the space between worlds and weaken Valfarre there. I ain't good at much, but I'm REAL good at poundin' evil. Lemme at it already! Come on, everybody! Yeah!
