Back when my mother was still alive, we went into a town just like this. Everything was so unusual and vibrant... And in one shop, I found an adorable little item that I instantly fell in love with. When my mother refused to buy it for me, I'm ashamed to say I threw quite the tantrum. She took it in stride, but once I'd calmed down, she told me that I mustn't be so selfish.
Sounds like an important lesson for a kid.
She passed away soon after, at which point life became a never-ending series of hardships. In the course of raising Lowen, the number of things I had to deny myself only increased. That's why I had forgotten what it was like to enjoy the smaller parts of life. But I'm remembering it all now.
