This page provides an overview about various mechanics and features in Dragalia Lost.
Player Level
- Main article: Player Level
The Player Level is the level associated with one's account. When completing any quest, experience points are awarded toward the player level. Increasing player level has many benefits, including restoring stamina and getherwings, higher stamina limit, higher friend limit, and improved facilities. The amount of experience gained per quest can be boosted by the skill Player EXP.
Resources
There are two types of resources: Stamina and Getherwings.
Stamina is used to play solo quests. The stamina spent on a quest will be refunded if the quest fails. The stamina bar increases with player level, and it refills at a rate of one point per six minutes up to its limit. However, gaining player levels, using restore items such as Quality Honey, and making purchases with
Wyrmite or
Diamantium can exceed that limit up to a maximum of 999 stamina.
Getherwings are used to join co-op quests. Like stamina, the getherwings spent on a quest will be refunded if the quest fails. Unlike the stamina bar, however, getherwings do not increase with player level, and they refill at a rate of one per hour up to 6 getherwings. Gaining player levels, using restore items such as Ethon Ashes, and making purchases with
Wyrmite or
Diamantium can exceed that limit up to a maximum of 50 getherwings. Note that getherwings are not consumed for the host of a party, only for the members that joined the party.
Currency
- Main article: Currency
There are several types of in-game currency which used for a number of things, such as Summoning, Crafting, and other uses.
Wyrmite,
Mana, Template:Rupees-, and
Eldwater are earnable currencies, while
Diamantium is a premium currency.
Summoning
- Main article: Summoning
Summoning is one of the key mechanics of Dragalia Lost. To obtain new Adventurers and Dragons, players are required to summon through the Summoning menu using
Wyrmite,
Diamantium, or
s. Prior to Version Update 1.7.1, Wyrmprints were also obtained through summoning. Wyrmprints are now purchased in the Shop with
Eldwater.
Inside most summon showcases, there are 3 different options to choose from to start a summon: Daily Deal, Single Summon, and Tenfold Summon.
The currency required to summon is as follows:
Costs prior to Version Update 1.7.1:
Endeavors
- See also: Endeavors
Endeavors are tasks players can complete to receive various rewards. There are quest kinds of endeavors:
- Daily: Endeavors which reset daily (12:00 AM PDT)
- Limited: Endeavors which are available for a limited amount of time
- Normal: Endeavors that are available to all players and can be completed at any time
- Special: Endeavors purchased from the Shop (eg. Extra Story Endeavors)*
- Quest: Every quest has 3 endeavors to complete, each requiring a condition to be fulfilled when completing that quest
*If a player has already completed the special endeavor before purchasing, the endeavor will auto-complete upon purchase.
Adventurers
- Main article: Adventurers
Adventurers are characters that a player can use on their team. A team can have a max of four adventurers. Adventurers are attributed a weapon type determining their battle style and element, as well as various skills and abilities. Players can equip adventurers with weapons, dragons, and wyrmprints to boost their stats and potentially gain extra abilities.
Adventurers gain experience through completing quests or from crystal items such as Silver Crystals, and they will level up upon gaining sufficient experience. Their max level is determined only by their rarity, which means they cannot be unbound. Since the player only needs one of any given adventurer, any duplicates of an adventurer are automatically converted to
Eldwater.
Stats
- Main article: Stats
There are various stats used by adventurers which can be granted and increased by equipped weapons, dragons, wyrmprints, skills, and abilities. A large proportion of these stats cannot be seen on the Adventurer's stat breakdowns in the game, but nonetheless will increase their damage and durability. Many stats will have an effect on an adventurer's skills, and their skills granted while shapeshifted.
Basic stats which can be found on all Adventurer's and equipped items are HP and Strength. HP directly increases a character Health Pool, and Strength affects damage done by basic attacks and abilities.
Weapons
- Main article: Weapons
Weapons are wielded by adventurers to boost their stats and potentially provide extra skills in combat. Each adventurer comes with a 1
weapon that provides no bonuses or skills. During quests, various 2
weapons can be obtained from opening chests and defeating fiends. Once the Smithy facility is unlocked in Halidom, players can craft stronger weapons through the Upgrade Menu. Higher tier weapons can provide extra skills to Adventurers, and if an elemental weapon is used by an Adventurer of the same element, the weapon will grant an extra 50% HP and Strength worth of its stats.
Dragons
- Main article: Dragons
Dragons are creatures that can be equipped to Adventurers. They provide Health and Strength and Might to the equipped Adventurer. Dragons also provide Abilities that can boost Strength and Health on Adventurers if they are the correct Elemental type. Ex: Ezelith can gain 40% more Strength by equipping Agni due to his (Flame) Strength +40% ability.
The second benefit they provide, is that they allow Adventurers to shapeshift into the equipped dragon for a brief period of time after filling up a Dragon Gauge during a quest. While in this shapeshifted form, the Adventurer will gain a new basic attack and a usable Skill which can have a variety of effects depending on the dragon. In their shapeshifted form, Adventurers have no health bar, but instead have a yellow duration bar that decreases over time and while taking damage. When the duration bar runs out, the Adventurer will return to their normal state and the Dragon Gauge will go on cooldown.
Wyrmprints
- Main article: Wrymprints
Wyrmprints are items that can be equipped by Adventurers. They provide Health, Strength, and Might to the equipped Adventurer, dependent on the level and rarity of the Wyrmprint. Every Wyrmprint will also provide at least one |Ability to the equipped Adventurer. Wyrmprints can be unbound to unlock a higher maximum level provided you have a second copy of the same Wyrmprint. When a Wyrmprint becomes fully unbound, the Abilities provided by the Wyrmprint will be upgraded to a higher tier, providing greater bonuses.
Because the Health and Strength provided by Wyrmprints are fairly low, they gain very little per level, and most of the value of the Wyrmprints comes from the Abilities they provide, so finding Wyrmprints that provide skills that benefit the playstyle of Adventurers is recommended.
Teams
Teams are groups of Adventurers that can be sent on quests. In the Team section of the Main Menu, players can create up to 6 unique teams that can be used in any missions. These teams can consist of anywhere from 1 to 4 adventurers, and allow custom loadouts for those adventurers. Each adventurer can be equipped with a weapon, a dragon, and a wyrmprint through the menu UI. There is also a feature inside the team menu to optimize teambuilding, which will automatically create a full team of 4 adventurers will full loadouts. A single adventurer can be used in multiple teams concurrently, each with a different loadout.
For more information and tips on how to build teams, visit the Team Building page.
Quests
- See also: Quests
The campaigns and stories of the game for the main story, events, and more. Tackle these to progress and earn rewards and experience points. During a quest, you can control the adventurers on the team you take to defeat the enemies on the quest map. Each quest also has several special conditions to achieve in order to clear the quest. If a player fails to achieve the special condition, then the quest will fail. These victory / defeat conditions as well as quest information and acquired items can be viewed from the Menu window during the quest.
Might
Every Adventurer, Dragon, Wyrmprint, and Weapon has a Might number, and the sum of these make up the Party Might. Some quests might have a minimum Might requirement to participate while other quests have a suggested amount of Might to participate in.
Helpers
Helpers are adventurers that players set. At the beginning of a quest, a player may select one of these helpers to use during the quest. The adventurer's skill can then be used at any time during the quest at the bottom-right of the quest screen. This skill can be used once if a player is not friends with the helper selected and three times if a player is friends. Players can also set their own helpers, and if other players use that helper, players will be rewarded with Mana daily.
Failing a Quest
If a player's entire party's HP reaches 0 or if a player fails to complete the quest conditions (eg. Complete within a certain time limit), then a player will fail the quest. A player will not receive the items earned during the quest run, but the quest stamina / getherwing cost will be refunded.
Wyrmite, Diamantium, or other items may be used to continue the quest. Upon usage of one of the aforementioned items, the player's party will have its HP fully restored and all gauges (Skill gauge, Dragon gauge, support-skill counter) will all be reset.
The maximum limit to continue in quests is 3 times per quest.
Giving Up a Quest
A quest can be abandoned by selecting the "Give Up" button from the menu window. All acquired items and experience for the duration of the quest will be lost, but the stamina / getherwings used to start the quest will be refunded.
Skip Vouchers
Skip vouchers are items a player can then use to automatically complete a quest, as long as they have completed all 3 endeavors tied to the mission. Not all quests can have a skip voucher used on them.
Co-op
- See also: Co-op
Co-op mode allows players to create lobbies for quests and invite up to three other players to play alongside them. Coop must have at least two players to launch, and any other slots will be filled by AI controlled characters from the currently selected teams of players in the lobby.
Events
- "See all Ongoing Events"
Events are time-limited occurrences which happen regularly in Dragalia Online. They bring new content in the form of Special Summons, Shops, Stories, and quests, but are only around for limited periods. Many events have unique rewards and buildings that only work during the event period.
Combat
- Main article: Combat Mechanics
Basic Attacks
Basic attacks occur when a player taps on the screen while controlling an Adventurer. Multiple taps on the screen will unleash combos of basic attacks with different animations and damage modifiers. Basic attacks are dependent on weapon type, so adventurers with the same weapon type will use the same basic attacks and combos.
Force Strikes
Force Strikes are secondary attacks that occur when a player taps and holds their finger on the screen. A special charge icon will appear under or near the adventurer, and when it fully lights up, release the held finger will launch the attack in the direction or location of the icon. Force Strikes are dependent on weapon type, so adventurers with the same weapon type will use the same type of Force Strike.
Skills
Every Adventurer has two activatable skills that they can use while on missions. These skills appear as small icons along the bottom of the screen during missions. To use one of the skills, the icon must be fully lit up, which only occurs after a certain amount of SP has been acquired during the mission. Once a skill icon is fully lit up, players must tap on the icon to use the skill. Skills can be attacks, buffs, recovery, or a combination of the three. Once a skill has been used, the Adventurer must gain enough SP to fully light the icon to use the same skill again.
Shapeshifting
When equipped with a Dragon, all Adventurers gain the ability to shapeshift into that Dragon while on a mission. During the mission, a shapeshifting icon will appear near the bottom of the screen. Once the icon is fully lit, players can cause their adventurers to shapeshift by tapping on the icon. Shapeshifting allows the player to temporarily fight as the Dragon, giving the adventurer new basic attacks, a new skill, and a Dragon timer that shows how much longer the adventurer will remain in their shapeshifted form.
Afflictions
Afflictions are temporary debilitating states which can affect adventurers and enemies, each with their own special effects. While the effects may vary between each different affliction, all afflictions will prevent adventurers from shapeshifting into dragons.
The Castle
Halidom
- Main article: Halidom
The Halidom is a castle in the Mistholt once protected by Cleo that now serves as Euden's home base. Various facilities can be built here on the Castle Grounds, and the player can move facilities about the grounds freely. Various materials and a certain facility level are necessary to increase the Halidom's level. This will expand the area of the Castle Grounds, allowing more room for facilities to be placed, and it is also a requirement for raising the level of the Smithy.
The Dragon's Roost
- Main article: Dragon's Roost
The Dragon's Roost is a floating island near the Halidom where the player can interact with their Dragons. Gifts can be purchased here once per day each and given to dragons to level up their bond. Increasing the bond with a dragon lengthens the duration of shapeshifting during quests. Certain gifts will give an increased amount of bond experience when given to certain dragons. When a gift is given to a dragon, it will return a material and/or mana as a thank-you. Dragon Stories will unlock when bond levels 5 and 15 are reached.
Stories
There are three types of stories:
- Adventurer Stories - Stories of adventurers who have joined the player. There are nodes in the Mana Circle which can unlock additional stories.
- Dragon Stories - Stories of dragons a player has entered pacts with. Additional stories can be unlocked by raising bonds with the dragon as well.
- Castle Stories - Special stories unlocked using Looking Glasses.
The Shop
- See also: Shop
The Shop can be visited from the Main Menu of the game. In the Shop, players can purchase Premium Packages and Diamantium, collect Premium daily rewards, trade in collected Treasure for rewards, and purchase Upgrade items for rupies and Diamantium.
Once daily players can perform a free Item Summon in the Upgrade Essentials tab of the shop, which will provide 10 random items from a list that includes almost all non-event upgrade materials in the game.
