Payback Period

The time it takes for each level of the Rupie Mine to pay itself off based on its improved earnings can be calculated with the following formula.

PaybackPeriod = (BuildingCost[rupies] + BuildingOvertimeCost[rupies]) / (50[rupies]/6[hr])
BuildingOvertimeCost = max(BuildTime[hr]-6[hr],0) * (ProductionPrevLevel[rupies]/6[hr])

The first term in the formula calculates the time it takes to cover the cost of the upgrade at that level's increased income rate. Since the increase for each level is always 50, all levels use 50 as profit. The payback period of one level has no effect on the payback period of another level. They are all independent, and some can occur simultaneously.

The second term accounts for the time period where potential Rupies are lost because they cannot be collected during construction. So the amount of rupies lost from the production is calculated, which is also added to the building cost. This number can not be negative.
