Dialogue

We've driven the fiends outta the front garden. The people await us back at the Halidom. Give the order to return, Your Highness. It's Euden! He's returned what from huntin' the fiends! Oh, thank you, Your Highness! It's only because of you we know peace. Three cheers for Euden! Our savior! Our rightful king! Oh, I'm nothing so grand. I'm merely trying to give people a safe place to... Wait. A king? That would mean... Is something wrong? No, something is very right, in fact. I think I've found our purpose. Valyx was right. Right now, we're just an aimless assemblage with no vision of the future. But if we made this castle the seed and grew out? Added homes, churches, fields? It could be a place to live in peace. Hold up there. That's starting to sound an awful lot like... Are you certain of this, Your Highness? I wasn't at first. But the people have opened my eyes. We can make our own kingdom right here. It may be small, but it will be a home to the displaced and the suffering—and a place where we can protect them. Bwa ha ha! That's insane—and I LOVE IT! Plus, I know you'll craft a great kingdom. All newlyweds need a little place to call their own! Building a kingdom is gonna be crazy hard. What's our first step? There's so much to do, it's hard to pick one thing. But I guess before anything else... We slap the Empire in the face with a declaration of our independence! Not quite... I'm less worried about slapping anyone's face than I am getting Valyx to understand my intentions. As a boy, I learned what it means to be royalty by watching him. Any who would rule must possess three traits, Euden. To attempt it while lacking even one is to be crushed under the throne's weight. You must endeavor to attain them. What are they? You needn't know just yet. When the time comes, I'll be there to test you. That will be the day you become a royal in action as well as in blood. That grumpy guy actually said that, huh? He showed me by example, which is why I want him to hear my answer now. We're not weaklings cowering in Dyrenell's shadow, and we'll never become bandits. I'll go to him now and make that clear.
