Summary

Siblings Lowen and Louise have come to the Halidom seeking aid, and they inform the prince that a dragon is hunting Lowen as a sacrifice. The party decides to build a wind shrine augmented with mana in order to drive off the troublesome dragon.

Did you find the cavern? Wait. That's...a castle? But what is a castle doing all the way out here? Gya! The wind's blowing even more now! We're out of options—we'll have to see if we can take shelter at that castle and look for the cavern later. We're almost there, Lowen. Now take my hand and let's go! Huh. What's wrong, Euden? Oh, nothing. I just noticed that the wind had picked up suddenly. Oh yeah, huh? That's kinda weird. Something might have happened with Midgardsormr. I'm going to go check. Hey, Euden? Looks like we've got someone at the gates. They're gonna get blown away at this rate! This isn't good. Notte and Cleo, I need you to get Elisanne and Ranzal right now! Understood. What should I do? Come with me—we have to help those people before it's too late! Urgh... The wind... Can't...move forward... Heeey! Are you all right?! Who are you? I'm the ruler of this castle, which is where you guys need to be. It's too dangerous to be out here right now! We are in your debt, sir. But if we don't hurry, she's going to— Er, she? That is one heck of a squall! What's going on?! She's caught up with us. Wait, is somebody chasing you? Garuda. She's a dragon. Why is a dragon pursuing you? There's no time to explain. I'm going to fight, but I need you to look after my brother Lowen. Please! Wait, you're going to fight the DRAGON? I don't know what this dragon's deal is, but fighting it alone is suicide. I take it you're Lowen? Yeah. This is all my fault. The dragon chose me to be a sacrifice, so that's why Louise has to protect me. A sacrifice?! I'll get the details from you AFTER we save your sister. Euden! We've brought Elisanne and Ranzal! Thanks, guys. Cleo, can you tend to this boy's wounds? The rest of you, come with me! Nrrrrgh... You are wounded, human. If you stay your current course, you will most certainly perish. I'll never hand over Lowen to you— even if it costs me my life! Hmph. So be it. Stop! This is no business of yours, boy! She's with us! Stand down, dragon. You do not want this fight. Listen to the lady, yeah? I know yer tough and all, but there's a lot of us here, and we're pretty good with the pointy end of a sword. This is not the end. I WILL come for the boy—of this, you can be certain. We must think of a way to keep her from returning. ...Er, does anyone have any ideas, perchance? The Wind Cavern. Hmm? What was that? We've heard tale of a place called the Wind Cavern somewhere in these woods. Ah, yes. I heard about that from the Windwyrm. The cavern is filled with curious ore that generates wind mana. That's right. And we were thinking we could use the power of the wind mana there to deter Garuda. That's actually why we've come to these woods in the first place. I'm afraid the cavern is in the very far reaches of the forest—there's nothing around it for miles in any direction. Shutting yourself up in there indefinitely would be something of a challenge. Well, shoot. What do we do now? What if we all camped out in this wind-cave dealie? We'll bring a buttload of food along, sing some songs, tell a few tales... It'll be great! Hey, yeah! Everyone loves a camping trip! You both need to take this more seriously. Ha ha! That's classic Elisanne, right there. Still, we can't just abandon these people. There has to be something we can do. Well, if going to the cave won't work, maybe we can bring the cave to the castle! I literally JUST told you to take this seriously. No, wait. Ranzal may be onto something— as shocking as that is. Wait, really? Obviously, it's impossible to move the entire cavern. However, we COULD go there and collect some ore. We could then use it to construct a small wind shrine inside the Halidom, which should give it the same effect as the cavern itself. And as a bonus, we'd also be able to receive the blessings of wind mana. I can't believe you'd go to such lengths for a pair of complete strangers. We can't leave you to solve this all by yourself. And honestly, this isn't just your problem. It's the royal family's mission to correct dragons when their behavior is wrong. You're a member of the royal family...? If my man Euden says it's go time, then we go. It's settled, then. We'll head for the Wind Cavern, then build a wind shrine right here in the castle!
