- Mars first appeared as a non-playable character in Chapter 8 of the Campaign during The Savage Blazewyrm, which was released on April 18, 2019. He was added as a playable dragon on April 24, 2020.
- In Roman mythology, Mars was the god of war. The Dragalia Lost interpretation of Mars is more savage and destructive, similar to Mars' Greek predecessor Ares.
