Dragon Story Episodes
The First Flame

The Primal Flame is a great power

entrusted to a single flame dragon.

Long ago, one such mighty creature

burned evil to cinders while shining

a light upon the weak.

Even after its life was lost, that noble

dragon's flame did not disappear.

That flame came to be known as the

Primal Flame, and was inherited by

a chosen dragon. To earn this right,

the dragon would have to complete

a grueling trial.

Many flame dragons yearned for that

power—and young Prometheus was

no exception. He wanted to shine

the fires of justice upon the world

more than anything.

After hard training, he overcame the

trial—and despite his young age, he

inherited the Primal Flame. All who

heard of this were convinced he

would become a legend of the age.

But he soon discovered his power

was stronger and more unstable than

he knew. For the first time he tried to

share it in the aid of men, it burned

their village to the ground instead.

The flames roared as they devoured

everything, and people ran about

trying to escape, screaming and

crying. It was a terrifying sight

reminiscent of hell itself.

In his efforts to help humanity,

he had stolen their happiness.

Racked with guilt, he swore to

stop all interaction with people.

He never wanted to hurt anyone—

or BE hurt—again. He felt he wasn't

capable of protecting anyone, and

his once-bright passion and yearning

burned ever dimmer.

He spent his days in despair...

until one fateful meeting.

Prometheus obtained great power in

order to help people, but ended up

harming them instead. He then

isolated himself from the world

until a chance meeting changed all.

He encountered a group of humans

who were battling fiends. The sight

confused him greatly—why would

they do something so dangerous?

Did they not fear being harmed?

When Prometheus asked them this,

the boy leading the group laughed.

"Of course I'm afraid," he chuckled.

"But the thought of someone ELSE

being hurt is scarier—so I fight."

The wounds the boy had sustained

were almost dazzling to Prometheus—

but he was more surprised when the

boy extended a hand and asked

him to join in his struggle.

Prometheus gazed at the frail hand—

one his flames could reduce to ash

in an instant—and suddenly found

himself remembering the yearnings

of his younger days.

He had dreamed of helping others!

Not wallowing in his own pain.

He had thought himself strong after

gaining his new power. But with a

weakened heart that feared pain,

he could never protect anything.

Suddenly, he felt a passion that

burned like a blaze in a dry forest,

and he yearned once more to

be strong.

No matter how much sin or sadness

he had to bear—and no matter how

much he was hurt—he wanted to

protect others as the boy did.

The emotion now burning within him

was his true First Flame, and so he

accepted the boy's proffered hand.

He felt once more that he could

become the next legend—so long

as the boy was with him. And thus

began the true tale of Prometheus...
