General Damage Formula

This is the approximate formula to calculate adventurer and enemy damage. Some factors may not be accounted for. All damage is rounded down from its final value (i.e. a final calculation of 745.76 rounds down to 745 damage).

Failed to parse (syntax error): {\displaystyle \frac{5}{3} * \frac{(100-{\color{Navy Blue}Damage\ Resistance})% * {\color{BrickRed}Attacker's\ Strength} * {\color{BrickRed}Attack\ Modifier\ %} * {\color{BurntOrange}Crit\ Modifier} * {\color{BurntOrange}Skill\ Damage\ %} * {\color{BurntOrange}Punisher\ Modifier\ %} * {\color{ForestGreen}Elemental\ Modifier} * {\color{Purple}Dragon\ Damage} * Damage\ Spread}{{\color{NavyBlue}Defender's\ Defense} * {\color{NavyBlue}Defender's\ Defense\ Change}}}

Variables

Variable Description
Damage Resistance Sum all resistances of the same type together and then multiply them by the other types.
Strength Total Strength = (Displayed Strength - Displayed Strength from Ability) x (1 + Dragon STR Passive + Sum of all Abilities) x (1 + Sum of all Buffs) x (1 + Blade Unit Co-ability)
  • Displayed Strength is the STR number seen on an adventurer's information page in-game. This includes the Dragon passives to HP/STR, or STR, as well as the 1.5x modifier to Dragon and Weapon base stats for same element boosts.
  • Displayed Strength from Ability is found by clicking the Details button when looking at an Adventurer's individual page. This part contains the Dragon HP/STR and STR passives for matching elements, Full HP = Strength, HP 70% = Strength, etc.
Attack Modifier If using a Normal Attack this is equal to the attack modifier. Refer to Combat Mechanics for the relevant numbers.

If using a Skill, then this is the skill's individual multiplier. Refer to specific skill pages for the numbers.

Crit Modifier When a unit lands a critical hit, the damage will have a 1.7 modifier + Sum of all Crit Damage modifiers.
Skill Damage Normal attacks do not receive boosts from Skill Damage, so this is equal to 100% (has no effect) for Normal Attacks. For Skills this is equal to the sum of your passive (Abilities and Wyrmprints and Energize) Skill Damage boosts multiplied by highest Wand Co-ability (if present) multiplied by any active Skill Damage Buffs (such as Striker's Skill).
  • Skill Damage Modifier = (1 + Sum of all Abilities) * (1 + Wand Unit Co-ability) * (1 + Sum of all Skill Damage Buff)
  • Amane's Empyreal Levin Level 3 (2 hits of 492%) with Plunder Pals MUB (25% Skill Damage) and 5% Skill Damage Co-Ability. The total Skill Damage is 31.25% (Modifier of 131.25%), and increases the damage of Empyreal Levin to 2 hits of 645.75%.
  • Lucretia's Energized Empowering Triplet (3 hits of 322%, with 50% Bonus Skill Damage) with Plunder Pals MUB (25% Skill Damage) and 8% Skill Damage Co-Ability. The total skill damage is 89% (Modifier of 189%), and increases the damage of Empowering Triplet to 3 hits of 608.58%.
Punisher Modifier Add up all Punisher and Bane damage except Broken Punisher
  • Ex. OD Punisher 8% + Thaumian's Bane 25%, for a 33% total Punisher on a OD enemy
  • Ex. OD Punisher 8% + Sleep Punisher 20%, for a 28% total Punisher on a OD enemy
  • Ex. OD Punisher 8% + Bleed Punisher 8%, for a 16% total Punisher on a OD enemy
  • Ex. OD punisher 8% + OD Punisher 8%, for a 16% total Punisher on a OD enemy

Add up all Broken Punisher and multiply it by any other Punisher

Then multiply them to get the total punisher modifier

  • Ex. Broken Punisher 10% x Blinded Punisher 25%, Nefaria using One with the Shadows 0UB, for a 37.5% Total Punisher on a Blinded and Broken enemy)
  • Ex. Broken Punisher 20% x Thaumian's Bane 25%, for a 50% total Punisher on a Broken enemy.)
Elemental Modifier See Elemental Modifier below.
Dragon Damage While shapeshifted, you receive a boost to all damage done. Total boost is the Sum of all Dragon Damage Modifiers, the base transformation Dragon Damage boost is 20%.
Damage Spread This is the inherent RNG Variance of the damage formula. This ranges from 95% to 105%, but for simple calculations, assuming 100% is sufficient.
Defense Base Defense for most enemies is 10 while some Thaumians (golems/slimes) have a base Defense of 50. Rare enemies can have a defense range anywhere between 12 to 250. Melee adventurers (Sword/Blade/Dagger/Axe/Lance) have a base defense of 10, while Ranged adventurers (Bow/Wand/Staff) have a base defense of 8. To check the defense of a specific enemy or adventurer, refer to their individual Wiki pages.
Defense Change Sum of all status changes which have an effect on defense. For Boss Mode Modifiers see below. Note that some Thaumians have unique Overdrive/Break modifiers.
