High Midgardsormr, often abbreviated HMS, HMD, or HMid, is the first of the High Dragon Trials that was released with the launch of the game. High Midgardsormr is considered to be part of Dragalia Lost's end-game content, and requires a higher degree of preparation, skill, and team coordination.

Preparation

Obtaining the Glorious Tempest

High Midgardsormr's Trial begins with an initial blast, called Calamitous Storm, that deals approximately 2278 damage to fire-elemental melee adventurers and approximately 2848 damage to fire-elemental ranged adventurers. Mitigating and surviving the high damage is best done by obtaining the wyrmprint, which gives a 25% damage reduction from High Midgardsormr and a 5% damage reduction from wind enemies.

Reaching the Stat Requirements

High Midgardsormr's Trial requires the player to have enough HP to survive and enough STR to defeat High Midgardsormr within the 05:00 time limit.

HP Requirement

After the player obtains and equips the Glorious Tempest, Calamitous Storm will deal approximately 1624 damage to fire-elemental melee adventurers and approximately 2029 damage to fire-elemental ranged adventurers. To survive this, the player must have HP equal to or greater than the damage dealt. This can be achieved by:

1. Promoting and leveling adventurers,
2. Activating a significant number of mana circle nodes,
3. Crafting higher tiered weapons, and
4. Upgrading elemental altars and weapon dojos in the Halidom.

Not having enough HP may cause the player to instantly die or be subjugated through a damage "roulette," where adventurer has a chance of surviving due to damage variation. Although it is possible to clear High Midgardsormr by surviving the roulette, it is highly discouraged due to the amount of time it takes to gather a team, make the lobby, share the room's ID, and load the battle.

STR Requirement

High Midgardsormr has 863,164 HP and must be defeated within the 05:00 time limit. Therefore, the team must have enough damage-per-second (DPS) to defeat it in time.

Because DPS is a mixture of the STR stat and individual player's performance, the STR requirement is more of a recommendation than a hard requirement. A lower STR stat can be compensated with higher player skill. For the purpose of easing newer players into High Midgardsormr's Trial, the STR requirements listed below is written with the assumption that the player is a novice to the Trial.

For individual adventurers, 2000 STR is the minimum recommended STR.

However, for an entire team, 2200 STR is the minimum recommended average of all the damage dealers. Therefore, a player that meets only the minimum recommended STR will have to group with other players that have higher STR.
